Is this the unraveling of CyclingMikey?

I can see my opposing views are upsetting people so I’ll leave it at that and repeat, don’t break the law and you won’t need to deal with people like him. In the meantime, I’ll continue enjoying the occasional video for what it’s worth. We all get raging at cyclists sometimes but I see no reason to detest the dude the way some people do unless you’re the one that’s getting the points.

Except it would likely be far more effective a deterrent to quietly report these people to the police with his video evidence - so they end up with points & a fine (e.g. something which actually affects them) - rather than shouting at them and shoving a camera in their face where the most they probably take away from the encounter is "WTF was wrong with that nutcase?" rather than realising their own actions were to blame.

By all means enjoy his videos for entertainment, but to think that he's doing it for any reason other than views, or that what he's doing is going to have any real effect on road safety and these drivers' attitudes is very naïve.

The sooner he and Jeremy Vine accidentally fall under the wheels of a steam roller the better.
Edit
Not wheels, roller.

It's likely to happen to Vine to be honest. It seems he likes putting himself in harm's way purely for content.

The van incident clearly evidences this.

Exactly. Putting it online for the views is purely an ego-stroke for him & probably the reason for recent escalations, viewing figures are down so needs to stir controversy to boost them.

Yes, that was idiotic even for him, and not the first time.
This was good for a laugh and bit of a self own, 3 minutes in..

At least there were no more self induced near miss videos from him.

He usually does this too, just not 'quietly'.

Using the video above as an example, it's noted within that the driver received a £220 fine, £130 costs and 4 points on their licence.

This type of crime is the worst, people can't go about their day in peace, basically terrorism.
Lol, explain how normal people can’t go about their day in peace? Bit dramatic.

You mean law breakers can’t go about their day?

Hard disagree, every cabbie in London will know about these cam cyclists therefore less likely to pull daft stunts or use their phones. Its a sad state of affairs that policing can’t combat stupidity in London but that’s where we’re at.

Also, in his defence again, I don’t think I’ve seen him shout at anyone, it’s always a polite reminder that he’ll be sending the video to the police.

The views aspect yes, fair play he might get some ad revenue for the more spicy videos but having seen enough of them over the past few days, I don’t think he’s the devil people seem to think he is.

I've only skimmed what happened so might not have all the information but just because there is a road closure and no entry signs doesn't mean there isn't permitted entry to residents and businesses, etc. (the signs say access only). When they closed the road through my village for water works awhile back they also placed closure signs on the single track road that bypassed it with "no through access to " signs but told us residents could use it.

Though sadly there are plenty of people who will ignore road closure signs, putting workers, etc. in danger, and only stop when they are physically unable to continue.

he threw his bike directly in front of the car and it would have caused damage to the car, at that point I think any driver would have got out whether they were legal or not going through the No Entry.
I reckon it was somebody up to no good in the car to drive off like they did.

Like almost everything on the internet these days, just assume it’s staged for content purposes.

"Excuse me, is there any chance you could come down the road on the wrong side or go through that No Entry so I can film you committing road offenses and stick it on You Tube so you'll be famous?"

Interestingly, from his own video, it looks far less like a knife:

Not a clue what it actually is, but doesn't look very knife like from CyclingMikey's side of the camera.

It's a Japanese trowel obviously

70+ replies and no one has posted the Crocodile Dundee "That's not a knife, this is a knife" gif? I'm disappointed OcUK. (I'm too lazy to find it, upload it and link it)

I did. I dont watch all of his videos, so I cannot say for sure. Can you?

Your turn.

I've not watched all his vids either but I can say with 99% certainty that he doesn't go after people behaving themselves. I know this because if he did, there'd be a national meltdown.

Dutch, lived in Africa. Is this what @Diddums sounds like IRL?

You joke, but I do sound alarmingly similar

What utter drivel.

By that then he shouldn't stop motorists as he's at risk of causing a collision as he PURPOSELY causes an obstruction

I think he's crossed over from "risk of causing" to "actually causing a collision" by the throwing of his bike under the car.

I had found some of his videos interesting, but that throwing of the bike was way too far.

If he’s willing to throw his bike at a car he’d be more than willing to pay people to drive down a no-entry road.

I’m not saying this IS what happened, I just think it’s silly these days to take anything online at face value when there’s money to be made.

Tread carefully with your certainty. Don’t know the fella and only became aware of him from this thread so have obviously very minimal knowledge of him or his antics but what I have seen there’s no way I’d be as confident as you - I’d bet good money this fella will have plenty of binned footage of him acting up with folk who actually were behaving themselves. The holier than thou lot tend to use their brushes in broad wide strokes - he’ll have accosted innocent folk. I’d not be 99% confident of it but I’d defo have a few quid on it.

I've watched tons of his videos just this week(probably about 40) and can say with certainty that he isn't a risk on the road and doesn't go after anyone that isn't committing a crime.

Agree with Littlenose about the throwing of the bike, doing that was too far and isn't adding to his cause.

Can't believe I'm the one defending this guy.

Even the ones he hasn't publicly posted on youtube?

and can say with certainty that he isn't a risk on the road and doesn't go after anyone that isn't committing a crime.

...based on the videos he's publicly posted.

@Thekwango's point was that he's not going to publish videos which show him in a bad light, that would be self-defeating.
