Looking to get similar spec for 2025 similar budget can push to £2.5k if pay back is warranted.
Time frame not bothered
Budget 2.5k
Gaming 90% of use .
Not bothered AMD or Intel
Wi Fi not bothered .
No peripherals needed have Alienware monitor and other stuff that's still decent.

Cheers Paul

Are you going to DIY or are you looking for a pre built?

If you are going to DIY are you wanting to reuse parts? That PSU is very high quality and I'd have no concerns reusing it

£400 (incl. VAT)
£1,100 (incl. VAT)
£1,070 (incl. VAT)
£155 (incl. VAT)
£132 (incl. VAT)
You could wait as the 5080 super is supposedly being released at Xmas and comes with 24gb of vram but I suspect it will cost £1200 +

Appreciate the Advice.
Was always looking at the 9800X3d as the start .
Looking for complete new build tbf as Im keeping exiting PC as backup.. (And moving older one on)
GPU is eyewateringly expensive. :)
And list was from a place in Bolton :)

cheaper option. for the price, the 5080 isn't worth it over the 5070ti
personally if you're able to wait, you should wait for the "super" refresh models which should come with more vram

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,468.90 (includes delivery: £7.99)

then, reuse your seasonic psu in the new build and put this phanteks psu in the old build
either reuse your d15 or use the new thermalright PA120 cooler
either reuse your current case or swap over to the new phanteks case:
My basket at OcUK:

Total: £211.87 (includes delivery: £11.98)

personally i'd use all the new components except the psu, that seasonic is good...too good to sell up

The GPU is always the issue due to the cost of them. However the spec posted here is good enough.

32 GB RAM is plenty. 2 TB SSD - is that enough ? CPU at 9800X3D is a good choice, motherboard is a B650 so that’s good unless you want a gen 5 SSD. Case and power supply up to you there.

It's a b850 ;)
The MSI I speced has gen 5 to the SSD but only gen 4 to the GPU.

Is an alternative if OP wants gen 5 to both the SSD and the GPU.

In retrospect the gigabyte eagle is probably the better option
2x M.2 Slots:
• M.2_1 (CPU): PCIe 5.0 x4 (9000/7000), PCIe 4.0 x4 (8000), supports 22110/2280
• M.2_2 (CPU): PCIe 4.0 x4 (9000–7000), PCIe 4.0 x2 (8500/8300), supports 2280/2260
4x SATA 6Gb/s

OK :) does that mean there is not performance difference on this board between a Gen 4 and 5?

Looked at some others and I cannot tell if a Gen 5 SSD is worth it :)

B850 looks very good choice especially for the money

There is a difference between pcie 5 and pcie m2 slots on this board the (9000/7000)and (8000) numbers are processer support.

Generally a pcie5 m2 won't give the everyday user a benefit over a pcie4 m2 unless moving large around of data to another po cie5 me, time is money scenario.
