Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [22nd - 25th August 2025]

City were terrible, just saying to the neighbour that I reckon Pep walks end of this season, they look worse than last year, Tottenham won 2-0 but didn't really play that well, never looked under threat though and I said they'll play better than today and lose.
I actually don’t think Pep will be at City much longer regardless, he has been there a long time already.

I sense he will want a break some point and be with family more plus I still think part of him wants another shot at Barca but will want to recharge batteries before that

If Pep goes, Arteta would then be the longest serving current manager in the premier league and next after him would be Silva on just 4 years. Goes to show that the times of managers being at clubs for 10...15+ years are gone. Seems to be quite the achievement to even make it to 5 years at a club these days.

I agree manager contracts like players almost pointless as well as can be fired quick or mutually agree not working n go etc.

Before Klopp left us it was Klopp/Pep being longest if I remember right of current era.

Many club owners don’t have patience for long term projects. I’m sure id read rumours of Nuno potentially get sacked at Forest other day and he has done wonders there!

BOOM! 2 nil Brentford

Edit: Scratched off
No idea how that was given as a foul. Certainly didn't look like it in the stadium.

We're in for a tough year if that's the news style of party under Keith Andrews. Very park-the-bus and counter attacking, lacking in technique across the front line.

Good to get three points though.

It looked very soft to not be given that goal at the time.

But on the replays it wasn't so much the player jumping, the one on the ground kind of nudged into the keeper and did impede, although only by a bit (apologies, can't remember the names).
