Can anyone throw an eye over my new gaming PC build list please?

There's room for saving/improving some things.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,413.83 (includes delivery: £11.98)

- Better gaming CPU with the X3D.
- Cheaper RAM that'll be just fine as X3D chips aren't fussed about latency etc.
- The AiO you chose is spot on but frankly overkill, the HSF I've linked is more than ample.
- You could go either way with the PSU, although the Lian Li might be better if you opt for the case I've linked.
- Cheaper but on par NvME.

M-ATX build but you could easily shift things into a midi tower for the same money.

That also leaves around £100 in your budget, you could switch the 9070XT to a 5070ti for better upscaling support (DLSS v FSR) and RT, but it depends on the games you play.

Edit: WTF happened to the 5070ti on here? I'm going to assume the upcoming Super refresh isn't too far off if they're no longer getting stock.

9600X3D is expected to release this year - may be worth waiting if you're not desparate to get it built, and you have room in the budget. I'd expect it'll be somewhere in the low £300's.

You advise on spending the little extra on 7600X3D? The budget can increase if it makes sense. 9600x seemed to be holding its own in the reviews I saw.

That case is beautiful but I'm a complete noob, I feel I need more space to build into:P

I'd say so, especially if you reduce costs elsewhere, you'd not be spending any more money after all with some shuffling.

I've built many rigs over the years, an M-ATX case like that isn't any more difficult to build into than a larger one to be honest. The only thing that makes things a bit more difficult would be if you've a non-modular PSU, or a PSU with exceedingly long cables. The Lian LI PSU you selected is actually designed for use in the sort of case I linked, that's why it has the funny looking shelf type thing for the connectors.

If you'd prefer a larger case and like the look, there are some well priced ones out there with similar aesthetics.

Revised build with a larger case:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,434.86 (includes delivery: £11.98)

Still cheaper than your initial post and includes the X3D.

With this build would I need to buy another two exhaust fans?

@Gray2233 sums it up well - and you will probably appreciate the smaller size footprint of the case.

Everything is just scaled down from ATX - so the space constraints are typically the same (other than PSU cable length - but modular cases reduce this PITA considerably, plus @Gray2233 explained the pitfalls already).

Nope, it comes with four fans pre-installed, you could add more if you wanted but there's no need.

Agreed, potentially just more noise.

I'm a die-hard M-ATX fan now, outside of NvME slots I really don't see any point in midi towers anymore, they're largely a bygone necessity for people needing 3.5" drive bays for optical drives and HDD's without wanting a ridiculously huge full tower.

You don't even need extra PCI-E slots anymore for the most part, granted some do for X or Y but for a gaming setup it was generally just a soundcard or something being slapped in. There's better external solutions for audio now, and that aside GPU's are so ridiculously huge they obscure most of your PCI slots anyway, and I don't know many gamers going for two-fan/slot design GPU's in a midi-tower.

Honestly, I'd shift to ITX if not for the utter faff and cost.

Careful, @tamzzy will appear waxing lyrical about ITX and indoctrinate the whole thread.

I agree, in theoretical principal, especially the M-ATX - easy to work on and cooling isn't an issue.

ITX however has always found a way to **** me off. Cable management, being the biggest PITA. Plus, i have big hands - and this combo doesn't mix well. I'm sure i leave as much of my DNA in an ITX build as silicon by the time I've finished.

I still advocate them - they're superb - if built correctly - but I try and hide my disdain if a family member/friend chooses this option.

Lian Li A3 middle ground incoming! :p

Frankly, the A3 is a grand little case and does support M-ATX at an extremely reasonable price. If I was building a new rig for myself it would be a contender, lots of nice style options for them too.

+ A bunch more, the non-window options are about a tenner cheaper too.

Quite keen on the dark wood window version.

Not recommending this to the OP BTW, if you're a little unsure about building it's one of those cases that might be a ball ache.

I feel you know my leanings towards little black, dampened boxes.

It is a beautiful case.

I recently built my daughter a 7800X3d build in Fractal North case - similar style - and I was really pleasantly surprised. So much so, I researched and came across the Lian Li's and became confused as to why Fractal hadn't made a M-ATX version themselves. They look great,

Although, I'm very taken with the Fractal Design Terra Mini ITX - but the blood content in my body disagrees.
