Help!

I was taking my elderly nan (95) to an appointment in my car, and despite being assured she had full control of her facultys she had some sudden diarrhoea issue and my leather ventilated seats are filled with stinking poo!

First car I've ever had with cooled seats (and therefore the little holes the air comes out of) and I've no idea how I'm supposed to clean them out.

Getting old is grim.

You'll probably want lots of cloths, a steam cleaner and anti bacterial spray, followed by something like Biobrisk.

So, it seems VW paint hasn’t changed much. I came to clean the girlfriends Golf R yesterday and no matter what i do i can’t remove bugs off the front of the car. Washed, snow foam, bug remover fluid, polish etc and nothing is working.

Ideas welcomed?

I doubt it’s the paint unless it’s specifically soft.

The gtechniq bug remover is very good but if still not coming off then it may have etched the paint requiring polishing.

I’ve only seen this when a car has had very soft paint or a smart repair.

I find touchless melts bugs on any cars I’ve washed, as does the gtechniq bug remover.

What is that tyre polish thing that local car washes use? I don't know if that has any long term effects. I get the car washed once in 2 months so don't think it matters. Just curious.

Yea its in the paint

Will need polishing in which case to remove the etching

Its more likely to occur in the warmer months on a dark car, where the paint becomes a bit softer with heat.

Effectively the same reason many chemicals can’t be used in the sun/heat - they’re more likely to damage the paint.

On a quite popular YouTube cleaning channel I see this recommended but it seems you have been through a lot so no idea here it is anyway, I have it but havnt used it yet doing a clean in about a week or so.

I've used a citrus prewash for years and had good results, can't see that the VW paintwork has anything to do with the removal of bugs when it's the same as any other.

I need to give the 4 series a proper detail polish and collonite wax. It was last done about 4.5 months ago I think.. so the wax has worn off

So much sandy dusty crap is landing on my car.. is this because we have had not much rain? And the road is full of dust .

I had a quick going over with snowfoam a weekend or two ago but all the dust has come back

Why so dusty

If it’s impacting it, it’ll be because it’s:

1. Dark
2. Summer
3. Soft (perhaps a front bumper repair?)

Not all paint is the same unfortunately

Maybe something like Autoglym Super Resin Polish would be worth a try. It's a very mild cutting polish which you can use by hand or machine.
