Summer Transfer Window 25/26 *Sponsored by Bigpig*

Such a shame. No doubt given promises of winning titles and cups and he’s going to be so disappointed.
I’m not so sure this time, City still look fragile, Liverpool despite the money spent, look worse than last season. This really could be arsenal’s year. This weekend will be a huge indicator of where Arsenal are, if we had a striker last night, we would have put Liverpool away, Arsenal don’t have that problem, and with Eze coming in they look even stronger.

I really don’t see them talking at anything below £150m as they have stated all summer that’s the price, I think they think they would look weak if they accepted less now, but as I said I think a new contract gets signed by next week, but will 100% have certain release clauses in it
I never thought the fee was going to be the problem. Both clubs would come agreement.

Isak can’t really complain we did try to replace him. Pedro, Sesko and Ekitike were his replacements. All went to the PSR clubs with nice fat wages bills.

It's been two games. City will come good (hopefully not until May!) , Konate will get benched and Guehi will take his place.

No chance can you start a 19 year old CB who hasn't played a minute for the club in an important six-pointer. I know there's been a lot of youth integration in the Prem over the past few seasons, but CB is never the position that allows it... he will just be muscled off every single ball by an exceptionally physical Gyokeres.
For me, its a might versus a will. Leoni might make mistakes, hell there could even be an 80% chance that he will mess up but the way Konate is at the moment there is a 100% chance that he will mess up. So its simply playing the odds. Both might have a high chance of mistakes but right now I reckon Konate has a higher high chance. I liken it to the Elliott vs Jones debate, both players CAN be effective but the chances of Elliott being effective in a match are higher than Jones imo, so I'd be keeping Elliott and selling Jones rather than the other way round, but Slot seems to have a special not on my christmas card list and has Elliotts name at the top of it :)

I don’t see Liverpool paying the £40m palace want for him
If I was in charge at Liverpool, I'd be putting down 40m right now on the phone. Even 40m for Guehi is a damned good price, irrespective of contract lengths. When you consider that Hincapie, unproven in this league, has just gone for 55m, 40m for a club captain, England international, youngish, Guehi is a great price. Given the defensive woes at the moment too and I'd stop quibbling over peanuts in price difference and just give them the 40m

Good signing that, not going to lie, Arsenal have put together a good set of players, Arteta cannot have any excuses now with this lineup, he MUST return silverware or Arsenal will think strongly about getting someone who can.

Yeah our squad now is crazy even compared to just last season. I'd have completely written off our chances next week with no Saka, Havertz or Odegaard but I think we have plenty of cover and in Havertz and Odegaard's cases, better players.

Must admit that I look at Arsenal now and actually think Odegaard is the weak link. Sort of reminds me of the Henderson situation where the club captain is actually someone you probably wouldnt even pick in your first 11 if you had the choice.

Yeah he’s 100% getting the tictac if he doesn’t win the league this year

He's been poor since the start of last season. All he's really good for at the moment is closing down, his final 3rd decision making is awful. I reckon Eze will drop in there next week, I'd even stick Nwaneri in there instead of him.

Wouldnt necessarily have to be the league but has to be major silverware, I read the other day that the Arsenal spend under Arteta is now over 1 billion, you cant spend 1 billion and not win major silverware, expectations will be high, especially with this set of players now

FA Cup is major, but an FA cup win this season shouldn't save Arteta's job. He needs the PL or the CL, Neither of which I can see happening with Arteta at the helm.

I think they're just waiting for some other transfers to go in Palace's direction, Glasner has made no bones that they need Guehi gone this window and Liverpool know they are desperate for another CB even if Konate was last season's Konate instead of Martin Skrtel.

If they wait until the summer to try and sign him, there's a good chance of a gazump.

FA Cup may technically be major, but it's not really. The PL and CL are the ones that matter, and perhaps to a lesser extent the EL.

Arteta has all the tools at his disposal now, and he's been given a long time to try and plot a way to win the league, so he's got to deliver. They can't be moaning about injuries etc.

A lot of people took the pee, pundits, fans, people on here and myself too

But got to hand it to chelsea the owners are playing a blinder never known a club sell unwanted players for so much money. I can see chelsea being a real force very soon

Arsenal are nailed on for the title in my opinion. They've spent a lot of money without having to sell too many players. Improved their squad from last season quite a bit. Liverpool have spent a lot, but sold quite a few important players and are probably weaker than last season.

I think Newcastle will sell him now, they'll still get a big fee and I don't know why they'd want a dark cloud hanging over the club until he inevitably leaves in January (for a lower fee).

Strand Larsen and Wissa will probably come in and replace him.

He could do a Suarez and have a great season but I'd say that's looking less likely at present...
