Well, it confirms that boat has defo sailed for Horner.

For now anyway; Horner is never getting to take another TP/CEO job in F1 without at least a 12 month "gardening leave" - I'm not sure its even confirmed he's actually officially left Red Bull "contractually" yet.
Fred won't be in a job in 12 months if Ferrari go backwards next year

Cant see another team taking him on until "the situation" is resolved by either RB settling out of court with an NDA or the tribunal going ahead and subsequently clearing him.

Not sure a big brand will want the perceived reputational damage otherwise.

I thought so, you can see both of them love cars and love driving them fast even more!

Yeah good video, never been a Max fan but he's pretty sound here to be fair, I think as he said at the end about enjoying it made the difference, a proper racing interviewer talking about what he loves rather than usual media stupidity trying to bait people is all we want - drivers talking racing, not politics or baiting for headlines.

If someone who knowingly ordered a driver to crash in order to influence the result of a grand prix can walk back into the paddock (at a manufacturer team no less) then I doubt Horner's text messages are going to stop him coming back.

Don't let the FIA see this. They'll ban drivers getting out of their cars or something.

Anyway, I hope he can have a laugh about it. He'll probably be very wary of window nets from now on :D

Reports are beginning to appear that Bottas has signed for Cadillac for next year. Nothing official yet, but expected to be confirmed next week. The second seat is still unconfirmed, but I'd expect them to announce both at the same time. Rumours suggest they may be going for the dullest option in the form of Perez; but I'm still hoping for a rookie surprise or even Mick Schumacher.

I read that the team had rejected Perez after he wanted a bonus clause of $30m if he won the WDC. Clearly Cadillac don't expect themselves to be winners straight off the bat. Or do and wouldn't be willing to sign that off.

That sounds a little daft (from Perez). I'm sure drivers do get bonuses depending on WDC finishes but I've never seen any evidence of them being around what could be (guessing) ~100% of the driver's salary?

Surely that kind of request wouldn't be a straight rejection either, it'd be the sort of thing that gets wittled down in negotiations.

Glad for Bottas though. His social media stuff is great, that'll certainly help Cadillac.

I watched the F1 movie last night. Quite enjoyed it but obviously there was a lot of artistic licence.

Still, it was an entertaining couple of hours and I don't regret it. :)
Yeah, I finally got round to watching it and felt the same.

It's not a factually accurate F1 film in anyway - but it's a really fun watch and genuinely really entertaining!

That was a joke by a parody account on twitter that has been picked up and taken as true.

Seeing unconfirmed reports now suggesting that Checo has been signed, but still nothing official.

Given Cadillac have a Mexican market (they're probably made there too), Checo and his backing was always going to be an option. Not surprised he's got a seat.

Bottas has experience of the Ferrari Power units, but I guess it was this or nothing for him to get back in so his team pushed hard to get him the seat.

They're a safe pair of hands between them, lots of experience alongside world champions and marketable in their own right. A sensible start to their brand in F1.
