Is this the unraveling of CyclingMikey?

Bicycle too slow innit

But to echo what everyone else has said, if you're not doing anything illegal he will leave you alone. Not really sure how people are having difficulty understanding this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But he shows very poor discretion as to that sometimes there may be other circumstances or exceptions, some people he blocks may legitimately have a medical emergency even if so far those who've claimed it likely don't, or someone could have ended up in a bad position through no fault of their own such as moving out the way of an emergency vehicle or another problem driver, etc. etc. so documenting and reporting them fair enough, even challenging them verbally in a reasonable manner, but actually trying to enforce rules or confrontational interactions with other road users he absolutely should not be doing.

I'm not going to shed any tears though for people he has caught on their phone who then start moaning about how it will affect their livelihood, etc.

I agree with what he does, Not necessarily throwing his bike at a car, like it seems he did, But i agree with him confronting those using phones behind the wheel as there simply is zero deterrent now, Nobody cares.. i see so many people distracted by their phones in NEW cars which have hands free built in, even the most basic cars so absolutely no excuse to use a phone behind the wheel.

Just watched Marc McCann Investigating. The guy (cycling mikey) is a class a moron.

Why is he a class A moron?

There are alternative, less click baity interviews with him(took me a couple of seconds to search)

His approach is a little unorthodox but I still struggle to understand why people hate him so much, he has no bearing on anyone’s lives unless you’re breaking the law. So why bother wasting your time?

If the law states not to drive on the phone whilst driving then let the law do that, and let the police deal with it. Why have some random guy on youtube who forces his bike in to a car on a road and then play ah he crashed in to me.

Nonsense

He will have people after him in the future. Which is why he supposedly carries a knife

At the end of the day he is targeting people for content profit.. he is a content creator not a safety hero.

-For some it will be motivated by understandably not wanting someone holding them to account for what might be small or accidental transgressions, etc. or what might be a real one off emergency and so on - life isn't perfect and the rules don't always mesh with every possible circumstance.
-For others it will be because they have varying degrees of transgression from above small through to flagrant and not wanting to take responsibility for their actions (they'll often see people like this as sanctimonious rather than appreciate we should all try to do our best).
-For some its is because of the double-standards - letting cyclists off the hook while showing no discretion towards drivers, etc. etc.
-Just because he is a cyclist.

Although a lot of his videos are stopping or documenting people in clearly cut cases there are also situations where he could, and maybe in some cases does, get it wrong potentially with consequences. There are videos from 3rd parties where he comes off in a worse light than covered on his own channel.

Agree with you entirely on the police taking care of the law. I take issue with people getting raging and basing their entire opinion of a person (and their motivations) based entirely on a single instance. Have you watched a few of his videos where he talks about why he does what he does? Have you sorted his channel by oldest uploads and looked at how long ago he started?

You also massively overestimate how much ad revenue he’ll be getting, he doesn’t even have sponsors as no one would touch him. (and rightly so) The guy has a job which is why the majority of his videos(if you’d care to look) are filmed on commutes.

I get that he’s a polarising figure(and quite an unusual chap) who does stick his neck out in ways which I don’t necessarily agree with myself but.. and as I’ve said time and time again, he’s apparently had a positive impact on phone usage behind the wheel in London and you can’t knock that.

Activists/campaigners/advocates/whatever you want to call it, they are all pretty annoying but what they do can work and it’s the reason we’re having this discussion now.

People saying sometimes he gets it wrong, I’d love the proof with some examples to back it up. I’ll eat my words.

It looks like he’s caused some cabbies to lose their licence despite them pleading with him.. if you watch the videos, the cabbies can never prove they had a reason to be using the phones, especially with passengers in the back. He doesn’t appear to give anyone preferential treatment based on a sob story and why should he?

Maybe there’s click bait titles but which Youtuber doesn’t these days? It’s the way the platform works. You’d do the same.

I’d like to see coppers on bikes doing what he does instead of him, countless times I’ve missed the lights because of some idiot looking down at their phone or been sat behind a car swerving about at 70 because they can’t put it down. That’s not going to happen though so if someone out there raises a bit of awareness then fair play.

Can be a tricky one to calculate with the way YT pays ads, etc. he probably isn't ticking the boxes to get the big bucks as his content is somewhat controversial but potentially he could be making around 20 grand a year from his YT stats.

UK’s most hated man is a bit hyperbolic. Most people won’t have even heard of him.
Are you new to YouTube or something, content creators give the titles and thumbnails descriptions like this to get more engagement.

I doubt it's even that much tbh. I'd be surprised if he makes more than £10k.

I will bet you any amount of money that a greater number of people are killed or seriously injured on roads other than motorways.

Instead of betting, why not find the evidence and back up your own claim?

Don’t let this dude(Mikey) wind you up so much.
I'm calling out the hypocrisy that you seem to glaze over each time with Mikey shining in your eyes.

I feel for those who are trying to turn on sat nav on their phones

Yeh i know where your coming from. He would be getting lots of ad revenue. The question also i have is, does he get paid at all by the police for snitching on people ?

I got abit angry with him when the one dude said he would end his life if he he lost his licence.

Also correct, london has police people deployed on bikes who i would assume come equip with helmet or body cams, this would be more than enough to ride on the roads and catch people if they wanted to.

There are a few people that annoy me on youtube, this guy and the guy or guys that go round and "audit" stuff, sitting outside buildings and filming. Then being contfronted by security or the police and try and waste their time.
