The Firearms, Shotguns and Shooting Thread

It also depends on who you know out in the sticks where the Funny Handshake Club still has a lot of influence.

I was thinking there might be some element of this - I can't really describe it without doing him down more than is fair but one of those people who seem to have a way of appearing important without actually being important.

I have, in no particular order:

  • Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 in .22LR (fun but terrible accuracy. Probably getting swapped for a Kriss Defiance or a volquartsen-barreled 10/22 very soon...)
After putting the best part of 700 rounds through mine the other week I was disappointed with the accuracy as well. Grouping is inconsistent. Compared to my pinpoint cz511 it was quite surprising.
Need to find ways to improve it or I'll be moving it on.

And @DRZ

It's odd because the club have 2, both used and abused and the accuracy on both of those is fine.

My Tippman version is also pretty accurate.

I suppose it depends on your definition of 'fine', and that's fine :) I bought this specifically to shoot gallery rifle competitions, so I am typically shooting standing unsupported at 25/20/15/10m and aiming at an X ring that is 1" in diameter inside a 10 ring that is 1.7" across. It is pretty normal to be able to put most if not every shot inside the 10 ring. My 15-22 just doesn't seem to be capable of that sort of accuracy.

If I wasn't shooting in competition or shooting in a comp with bigger targets it'd be just fine. I like a lot of things about it but I think chasing accuracy with this one might be a fool's errand and I'd be better off just moving it on and getting something inherently better out of the box. My biggest reservation with the Kriss is the weight.

Fair enough, my Tippman is about a 5 pence piece at 25 yards.

Could just be he allowed the FLO to hunt and fish on his land on the QT or allowed plod to have a hoedown with real hoes in one of his barns.

Unfortunately, the two U.K. mass shooting events in living memory happened because the respective FLOs didn’t do their jobs.

Yeah, we're shooting maybe 110yds and I'm struggling to get good groups.

Fruit is good for ensuring your zeroing is spot on:D

If that's standing unsupported then you should definitely be entering competitions as you'll be good enough to shoot for your country!

No way lol.

That's bench rested.

Just pointing out the rifle itself it's accurate enough if it needs to be.
