Google Pixel 10 Series (10/10 Pro/10 Pro XL/10 Pro Fold & Pixel Watch 4)

I think anything above the 8 isn't worth the upgrade.

I'm sure I read the 10 pro XL is about 60% faster than the 8 pro in the CPU performance and 60% again in the TPU/AI performance.

The 8 to the 9 was only about 8% ( they only raised the clock speeds I think) and obviously should be some benefit to the 3nm CPU Vs 4nm CPU but time till tell.

I have the 8 Pro and it doesn't it doesn't really leave me wanting for more performance.

Only exception is when processing some pics after the shutter button is pressed. This can sometimes take over 5s for a simple snap which isn't even night mode.

The main area that needs improving is the battery life as it falls well short of the leading competitors.

Thermals are also an area that needs improvement. And hopefully we'll see that now we're on TSMC manufacturing and 3nm.

Cams are also a let down given the 10pro is almost basically the same as the 8 Pro! Bar the selfie.

Yea I agree, my 8 pro is very snappy. I'm only upgrading because I'm out of contract and the new deal saves me money.

I'm also disappointed in the 8 pro battery. I'm away camping this week and it's dying on me half way the day!

I agree with the camera processing, hopefully the 60% boost in CPU speeds over the 8 pro will help overall.

I'm really hoping the battery is far superior and on par with others such as one plus.

Mines shipping tomorrow, got my store credit today which is nice, thinking about getting the watch now, I have the watch 2 which I do quite like but the battery life is terrible it just about lasts on one of my 25km hikes

Yep, I've got my store credit now too.

Also just re enabled the pixel tips app as it's now 'My Pixel'. Just seen you can get some exclusive app only offers, no clue if they're any good or not.

think im going to wait till next year unless a better deal comes along, might pick up the watch when they go a bit cheaper
Moore's Law is definitely dead!

I'm currently "stuck" on various items due to no real upgrade options after a couple of years:

P8 Pro
Samsung Tab S7+
Samsung Watch 5
RX7900 XT
Surface Pro 6

Got the ready to dispatch email this morning, roll on tomorrow!

Same and already started return process. :) Was going to reject the delivery tomorrow but feel safer to return it myself.

Then will sign up to Google One premium and order it again for extra 10% store credit.

Is it such a bad thing that we don't need to constantly upgrade our phones every 1-2 years though? Obviously having things improve at pace is great, as is having something nice and new, but I think I'm okay with not having to buy an expensive new device so often. I wouldn't say you're stuck, but rather fortunate that your devices are not outdated already.

Yeah, I'm still on my Pixel 7 and waiting for a feature that makes it worthwhile upgrading.

The 9 didn't have it, and I don't think the 10 does either.

The magsafe stuff would be nice, but I'd need to buy new chargers which doesn't help matters!

I'm upgrading from a 6 and honestly could have gone a bit longer.

An unpopular opinion I'm sure
:D
I'm still perfectly happy with my 6 Pro. It never feels slow or sluggish and the battery life is still very good. I slow charge each evening from 30% to 80% which lasts me a day. I'm not a heavy user.

The trade-in deals on the 10/10 Pro are mighty tempting for a nice new phone but I think I'm going to hold out to see what Black Friday brings. I'm finding it hard to justify going from paying £8/month for SIM only to dropping £700+ on a phone. The 6P still has 14 months of updates before it is EOL so it's not obsolete just yet. My last couple of phones have lasted 4 years before I've upgraded but I might hold out a bit longer this time. It's not as though modern tech benefits from the huge leaps in performance between each generation any more.

It's been quite disappointing to read about the lack of any real camera upgrade over previous gens, and none of the AI rubbish interests me. Modern phones are brilliant point and shoot devices but the last couple of years I've gone back to using my DSLRs more and so a mediocre phone camera upgrade isn't high on my wish list.

See what happens in the next few months I guess, otherwise I might hold out for the next gen.

Just used the comparison tool on the Google store, it is scary how similar the 9 Pro XL and 10 Pro XL are from their own comparisons specs. I had a preorder but cancelled as it was impossible to justify for me .

For people with older Pixel models I think it makes sense , it does look like a good complete phone, I always said the Pixel 9 pro XL was closed to being perfect bar the processor , charging speeds etc . Improved speakers are great along with QI2.

It will be interesting to see if the Tensor can really improve battery life with the 3nm process and efficiency.
