Absolutely. I had a 2014 SEAT Leon previously, SEAT updated the infotainment system in 2015 (I think) and not long after stopped supplying updated SD cards for the older satnav systems, so mine was out of date for the majority of the time I had it. In hindsight I wish I'd just spent the money to get an indy place to replace it with the updated hardware but it was pricey at the time.Do you think there's any risk - as we have seen with PC software - of manufacturers ending support for a car? And what issues might that cause?
With many cars running Android and being heavily reliant on internet connectivity and apps, it's easy to imagine that OS support ends or certificates expire e and suddenly services and apps stop working. I suppose the saving grace is most cars supporting CarPlay/Android Auto so in those instances, you just end up using your phone.
