Listening to Amorims language last night sounded like he was hoping he would get sacked? Almost admitted he’s lost the dressing room?

He’s coming across more clueless than stubborn, against a league 2 side why the hell are you playing 5 at the back? Utterly ridiculous. Just like big Ange, he’ll be gone, I suspect it won’t matter what result they get at Burnley come international break they’ll get rid.

We'll need someone with Championship experience

Going by yesterday, maybe even League 2 XP

Its getting so bad that the idea of Southgate isn't making me want to slit my wrists

Surely not.

It’s still going to take years and years to get rid of all the bad eggs and get a spine.

Wonder if it would be better to just pay up and terminate the contracts of a few of the high earners that you can’t get rid of. Get them out of the place.

Work on signing a spine of the team, although that’s going to be tough as there’s now no CF out there.

PR nightmare all around which ever way you look at it.

I was thinking the same. Surely not though, maybe if Ashworth was still in post…

We just need a normal manager to play to the strengths of these players and motivate them a bit, it can’t be rocket science.

I actually think we can field a very strong and exciting team.

As I said many months ago Southgate, given time, will provide the foundations for Man U to be successful again. Sure he isn't going to win them the League or champions league but he will cut out all the bull****, sort the culture out and unite a club.

For me he's the clear choice and has been for a while :)

Nah, Southgate isn't the solution to anything. And I think we have a fine squad for now. Yes we still need to bin off the guys we know need to go for behavioural reasons and quality issues but this squad is easily top 6.

Yep. Shouldn't be that hard. Should lure Howe away from Newcastle. If only for the bants.

No to Southgate.

Come on guys.

Yeah, I was joking. That would be the end for me.

How will he cut out the ******** and sort out the culture. The much vaunted transformation of England that he presided over was just a happy coincidence in my eyes. This isn't 20 years ago when United/Liverpool (I would say Arsenal but did they even have English players back then) all hated each other and the squad balance was a mess. He came in when all the England players were pretty much mates, we had a super strong crop of young and talented players available and some vague sense of balance to the players available.

He then took a bunch of exciting attacking minded players and made them play boring defence first football to scab their way to a couple of finals. Nothing about the man screams transformational or even that he is a good motivator.

How many clubs as he done this at? Middlesbrough?

It has to be Howe, called it a while ago. Only issue is, the size of the club and all the extra stuff, we almost need a second person to deal with all that.

The morning after.
Watched Amorim's comments after the match. It's damning but illustrates that there remains a pervasive mental weakness and lack of leadership in that team. Still too many egos that are Instagram stars first and team players second.
Of course some are just not good enough but they all should be good enough to beat Grimsby. It leaves me to wonder who else he would need to boot in order to have a better chance of fielding an 11 that can
a) follow instructions
b) not abandon everything they have been working on in training at the first setback
c) at least give 100% from minute 1

Well I dont think anyone considers Onana a winner. He's weak minded and a crap goalie
DeLigt - he gets a pass from me. I think he's a pro and has played quite well
Maguire - same as DeLigt but he looks like the only leader on the pitch. Problem is his credibility having lost the captaincy seems questionable
Fredricson - just a kid so he is exempt from any redress other than being hooked at half time.
Ugarte - he's never really looked good enough and from what we have seen this season he's 50% worse than before.
Mainoo - he's a kid, a quite kid and one who has been overhyped. Probably saveable but just not ready for such a pivotable role.
Dorgu - I see no attitude issues. He's a bit raw but very enthusiastic.
Dalot - he's a good pro but he's just not good enough despite all his versatility. He cannot play wingback.
Amad - last years star has been poor, really poor but he seems a good lad.
Cunha - he has some fire but really he was positionally quite undisciplined last night and vs Fulham.
Sesko - too soon for him to be judged - I thought he looked better than Hojlund.

So it's hard to spot what is going wrong other than to say that it's 80% confidence and that they have poor in game adaptability/patience when things go wrong. Lets not get away from the fact that we have conceded 3 goals this season which can easily be blamed on poor goalkeeping and we still can't seem to buy a goal from good play. You would like to hope that there will be a reward for some of the good play we have seen but currently the pressure seems to much for them all to bear. Is it as simple as get a decent Schmeicel/van der saar keeper. Well it might be a big part because if you can't trust your keeper then the whole defence looks shaky.

For sure it's a conundrum but lets see if the coach can find a way forward.

Edit: I forgot to add that the biggest culprit albeit unwittingly to the loss of shape and discipline is normally the current captain!
