NFL 2024 season

That pick has not gone down well with r/bears, CHGO etc. You can only trade back if someone else wants to. I am a bit disappointed we haven't gone OL/DL, but also glad we haven't pay way over the odds to trade-up. I think TE makes sense given Ben Johnson will want weapons for his offense. Someone did say a few days ago the Bears were high on Loveland over Warren so maybe that was either right, or just a result of how the board was playing out.

Jeanty at 6 to LV. Apart from the actual trade this draft has been very, very predictable in terms of players going where so far. Interesting given all the fluff in the build-up about how unpredictable it might be. As if!
I'm very happy about that. He could be better than Josh Jacobs for us. The Yardstick for me though is Marcus Allen, He is the reason I've been a Raiders fan for 40 years.
No Surprise Cam went at no 1, I'm certain He will have a similar Career to another Miami QB who was picked at no.1 way back in 1987, that was Vinny Testaverde.
I'm stunned that Shadeur was overlooked in the 1st round, that could come back to bite any team that did so.

Good luck. I think Jeanty looks like he could be one hell of a player.

To me it feels like the flags on Shadeur were significant and there are rumours he annoyed two teams significantly in the draft process (Browns & Jets) that they pulled interest. How much of that is true and made up I don't know. I would assume there are lessons to be learnt from his side, but equally teams often get it wrong and very good players sometimes slip as we've all seen.

Where he goes tonight will be interesting.

Interesting segment from NFL Network last night after day two was done and Shedeur Sanders was still not taken.

Well the Browns ended up taking him, after they took Dillon Gabriel

Yep, very odd. Although if even one of them does land they are going to be in a very strong position given they have two 1st round picks next year. They have options to find a new QB.

So either those rumours were simply wrong, or slightly off in terms of the teams mentioned. However there clearly is a story on why he slipped so much.

Well Ticketmaster were a cluster as per usual with this years tickets. I can't believe how much prices have gone up either. I went a couple years back for the Bills game and had cat 3 tickets at £120. This year cat 3 tickets were £210!

I ended up getting tickets for the Broncos Jets games as at least I'd have a bit of skin in the game wanting the Jets to lose.

Although I enjoyed watching the Bears last year I don't miss the cost & stress of getting tickets.

No stress this time round, there were loads left! Just the cost. £200 is ridiculous for tickets though, we only went for it as we missed out last year and it was a good day out. If it's the same again next year, I doubt we'll bother.

Ah OK that's good to hear.

Last year I had to pay £250 for the pair of tickets in one of the ends of the Tottenham stadium, which probably isn't too bad. But obviously aware there is many more tiers of ticket prices going on and I think mine were in the 3rd cheapest tier. As you say at some point you get priced out of a ticket.

If anyone does struggle for seats together, untick the "seated together" box as I found some last year when I booked for the Bears vs Jaguars at Spurs stadium that the booking system didn't always see some seats that were actually next to each other, so maybe worth a shot.

I've just seen the NHL is switching to DAZN for the upcoming season and noticed they have a NFL pass, anyone that uses it does it have a spoiler feature for watching replays so you don't know the score? NHL tv was excellent for that and never let me down!

I didn't sub last year, but before that I used the app and it was spoiler free... although I think my brother had it installed on his TV and that gave spoilers.

IMO, it's generally not a good service. I watched the Superbowl through other methods and was fine, but my brother trying to watch on DAZN missed big chunks of it I think, like 8 minutes here and there.

It wasn't uncommon, on opening weekend that it would take an hour or so before it would work properly.

Some fairly big news breaking this morning, basically new Live Regular Season games coming to Channel 5 and 5ACTION from Sunday 7th September. Unfortunately it appears that there are still two; 6pm & 9pm Sunday games restricted and not available for 24hrs on NFL Game Pass in the UK (sucks and part of the reason I haven't bought this for about 7/8 years now). Not sure outside of International games, week 1 Sky previews, or the Super Bowl when live regular season games were last on UK Free-to-air TV. Maybe Channel 4 in the early nighties?

Also some debate on what this means for Sky NFL coverage - I hadn't realised the Sky UK TV deal had run out after the draft and there was no NFL programming on Sky atm. My initial reading was these two games were in addition to the Sky games, but apparently that's TBC.

NFL on 5

5 and Paramount UK today announced a major new multi-year partnership with the NFL and CBS Sports to bring live coverage of the NFL season free-to-air to UK viewers.

Every week through the NFL season, two Sunday evening games will be broadcast; the first at 6pm on 5 and the second at 9pm on 5ACTION – which will be branded as 5NFL for game nights. Both games will also be streamed live.

The broadcaster will also show the Super Bowl free-to-air in the UK. In addition, it will broadcast the NFL London and Dublin Games, as well as Thanksgiving Day specials and three playoff games.

From what I have seen Sky will have the same as they normally did but I've not seen the late Sunday night game mentioned in any reports for Sky.

So Sunday 6.00pm and 9.00pm/9.25pm games. Redzone on Sunday. Monday and Thursday night games

This was on the sky forum in a post about NFL but no official word yet.

Hopefully there's an official announcement soon. If all this Channel 5 stuff is in addition to Sky's previous coverage then that's great news. But loss of existing coverage; Sunday Night etc. would be sad.

Either that or stop 'neutering' GP in the UK.

I assumed (probably incorrectly) the two games shown would be the same as the Sky games but C5 commentary.

I'd be gutted to lose the Sky coverage tbh which I think is excellent. Neil, Phoebe and J-Bell on Sunday evening is perfect.

From any reports Ive seen the Sunday games on C5 would be different to Skys. But this is still unconfirmed
