I didn’t realise BTOpenreach offered speeds above 900mbs. The fibre has been run where I live and the checker says “available to order soon” so I’m hoping that changes soon. How does it compare to the speeds you had before?

I had 900 before, so pretty much zero noticeable difference beyond much quicker downloading large ISO files/Steam updates etc. Wouldn't have opted for it, but worked out cheaper than I was paying before.

Got some cheap parts from china to have a play with building a DIY home server. Cant complain given the Xeon I got is 10 core and cost a bank breaking £2.99

I've never made a home server before so good luck to me figuring it all out. Just need to hunt down some more bits on the cheap.

I can remember the exact day, 4th October 2000.

Was going to ask if that was Virgin or not. Those speeds are mega. How times have changed.

Just checked the OpenReach site, apparently they’re developing full fibre in my area at the moment, one to watch.

Take a look at city fibre too. I'm with Vodafone on the CityFibre backbone paying £30 a month for their 1Gbit service and usually see 930/930 on speedtests

Blue stuff. Dykem layout blue and Cold Blue solution for steel (two bottles for the price of two, a bargain). Also, behind them, two more diamond lapping plates, one of which wasn't flat so is not a lot of use to me. Pity I didn't notice before I drilled holes in it for drive dog pins, now I can't send it back.
