@Junglist did you get the highland m3p?
To me the biggest upgrade is the adaptive suspension that is absent on all the other models

No but I bloody wish I did! It was a bit more than I was comfortable paying a month at the moment. Though in a few years I'll be well out of the money pit that is nursery fees so I'd have a bit more 'fun' money available to me and maybe then I'd go for a Y or 3 performance.

Just the AWD model for this here peasant :p

i'm already a member of said peasant club, feel free to join then lol
the LR AWD is already much faster than my 440i off the blocks...so much so that i've set the acceleration to chill mode (even with the acceleration boost pack  )

Team Peasantry! (By OCUK Standards anyway - think we're doing OK in the real world :D)

Yeah I think having that instant speed is much more fun than with a regular ICE car. Have to be honest, when I test drove the AWD model it wasn't necessarily the speed that put a grin on my face but the audio quality. Coupled with the quietness compared to an ICE I'm quite looking forward to being in traffic with some of my favourite albums!

I also test drove the LR-RWD and even that with the instant torque put a grin on my face and was much quicker than I thought it would've been.

Sadly I don't think the AB is available on the highland models in the UK yet. Did you buy it with it included? If not, did it make a noticeable difference? Though I'll get the commander and S3XY knob and windows tinted as my first things

Here's a weird one for you. My BYD Seal has a battery capacity of 82.5kWh, LFP type battery.

At the weekend I plugged it in to the Hypervolt charger at about 16% charge remaining, so by my maths that should have had around 13.2kWh still in the battery.

Here's the two 7 hour charging slots as recorded by the Hypervolt:

IQR5mggLSogcTaPzHY3iXlrHAfjqvRD3KFb7hKmOPpC8HHQ
IQSVDQxsej8OR7o9Qz-3oqwNAWNA6GIQ3tjOZEWMT8B7Xt8

That adds up to 83kWh over the two days but why when it should have still have had 16% or 13kWh charge .

Is the charger that inefficient that it loses that much per charge, or is the car or Hypervolt telling me porkies?

I've read in the owners manual for the Seal that you have to recalibrate the battery once every three to six months by fully charging the battery from low (SOC <10%). Perhaps it's time for that.

It could be down to the car balancing it’s cells after each cycle. If it’s a resistive balancer that means all the cells will bleed down inline with the lowest.

it's the chavs in their blacked out A1/116d that takes the cake

at motorway speeds the cabin background noise is louder than my 440i unfortunately, i believe they have made some improvement in the highland
and the premium audio is better than the BMW HK setup imo

yea, the specimen i found came with AB already included, probably bought by the ex-owner
never tested one without AB though, so can't really say...although from reddit/youtube, they say that the extra hp helps with the initial get-go whatever that means

The bit I am looking forward to the most in getting rid of my S3 is that because it looks somewhat sporty I always get these boy-racers in GTI's, M135I, A35s and the usual suped up hatchbacks trying to race me. Had some utter **** in a Golf R follow me along the dual carriage way and overtake me off a roundabout once when I had my daughter in the back and it boils my ****. I'm not a boy racer, never have been (though the irony being I've owned GTIs and Ford ST cars lol) I just always said I wanted to be an Audi S/RS car and the S3 was the cheapest one of the bunch  but they just do my head in when I'm trying to commute to work with a coffee or listen to a boring podcast on my way back!

So I'm hoping with a 'boring' looking tesla I wont have to deal with that any more.

yeah even in my 440i i had that more times than i cared about lol
never bothered to engage these 70553rs and they sped off eventually

It’s not exactly been a big seller since the Model 3 launched anyway - it’s quite expensive outside of its party trick of being stupidly fast.

Quite surprised to see them just shelve it though, given that it was the car pretty much responsible for Tesla as we know it today. I reckon they missed a trick there, could've turned it in to a proper halo car or something. Tesla seems to be completely stagnating atm.

The U.K. is a tiny market, there just stopped making it in RHD, you can still get it in LHD.

They allegedly engineered the refresh so making RHD was impossible but I don’t know if that was ever confirmed or was just made up.

I have had my Gen 2 Leaf Tekna for just over 14 month now and always wondered how it did the looking down 360 degree view as I have only found four camera's and none off them are at the sides. This morning we had a completely new camera view (Nissan did a over the air update this week) and it was looking down both front doors. When we got into town and parked up at Lidl the wife and I got out and tried to find further camera's to discover that there is one in the bottom of each wing mirror so that's six camera's on board. I can't see how I missed these as I clean the mirror casings thoroughly when I wash the car as they are usually covered in bugs so I must have had my eyes closed when cleaning them!! With all these camera's it's a pity that they can't be used as dashcams because there is a SD card slot in the car. Manufacturers are missing out by not enabling them to be used like that and I expect it's not only Nissan that has loads of camera's that can't be utilised in this way.

I had drivers in diesel focus's and Audi's trying similar when I had my M235i. Unfortunately some it seems just want to be willy waving drivers.

Don't get me wrong I'll enjoy a little bit of spirited driving when we're driving into Wales but I never try and race someone. It makes me feel like being 17 again sat in a friends Saxo VTS revving at an M car or something else, pulling away slightly faster at the lights and then saying the words, with full sincerity "I just smoked that beamer"

AFAIK it's only Tesla which do allow this. it's a real shame to be honest . in my ignorance and knowing that both my friends Tesla's did it injust assumed other cars did it as well. I didn't even ask if the ipace could do it and thought it was a given with it having so much tech and 360 degree cameras. sadly I was wrong.

BMW's drive recorder is close, I can also operate all the camera's from my phone and take 3d snapshots of it's surroundings whilst the car is parked.

I drove the new Model Y performance today, and it blew my mind a bit. It was the first time I've stepped in an EV, let alone driven one. I was always against Tesla's, but feel very differently now. I like the minimalism, it's quiet, everything just works, and it felt like a nice drive.

The performance is obviously nuts, I think it's a bit excessive for me personally so would be looking at a lower trim.

My options that in struggling to weigh up are, new MY, standard trim, or a used previous generation MY which a better trim. There's no doubt the new one looks much better. Or, explore the Kia EV6.
