Afternoon All,

I'm in the market for a new monitor, I had the Alienware Ultrawide QD OLED but it's been taken up by my racing sim and my PC monitor for desktop gaming is now on it's way out. So I'm looking for the ideal 32inch 4K OLED monitor that will work nicely for console/PC gaming. Looking for something reasonably priced and with a glossy screen, I looked at the Samsung G8 but the matte screen just isn't for me.

Please let me know your suggestions for this :) thanks in advance.

I've seen the MSI get quite a few recommendations. 1 ask, I've seen a comment about Displayport 1.4 against 2.1. Is this even worth worrying about or is it not really important?

It's more I don't want to commit and find in like a few years time it becomes a game changer.

Just means you don't rely on DSC to get to 4K 240Hz (so lossless) signal basically. DSC does cause the odd black screen moments (or at least used to far more) but has mostly been solved I believe. I would go for one with DP 2.1 just for future proofing that tech into my display, but if you have a 5000 Series GPU, I think you pretty much have feature parity regardless of whether you have DP 2.1 or 1.4 now. As it supports all of the same features on offer otherwise, except for the use of display stream compression.

I'd go for the savings if I have a 5000 series GPU otherwise pay the premium

Ok, that makes sense.

I guess, between the Asus and MSI.... what's your absolute choice? Is the Asus worthy of the higher price tag? or is it more reasonable to go with the MSI?

From all the reviews I consumed the Asus is brightest and has the most accurate colour accuracy - so is the best choice from a pure performance perspective, I'd pocket the savings and get the Phillips model probably. (I've had various MSI variants before) and will happily replace a monitor I have with one that is £100-£200 cheaper for 95%+ similar performance.

That or make sure I get a DP 2.1 display if it's of significance to you Aorus offer a couple of models from last year with such support (Make sure UHBR20)

Msi its just had a new firmware come out that makes it brighter. I have a 321up its a great monitor so this one above is now a steal at that price dont pay asus tax

Go for the MSI and save your self money they also seem to be fixing any problems through firmware. The asus on the other hand last firmware update was January
