It's too hot :(

Pretty low water levels at Rutland Water at the moment revealing the usually submerged remains of old buildings that were demolished when the reservior was constructed in the 1970s

I don't think I've seen it that low before.

I saw something similar in the Peak District over the weekend. The River Manifold near Thor's Cave was completely dry. Thought it was a bit odd when crossing it to not see any water there.

Pretty much sums up the drought we've had this year.

Just had the first heavy rain here since the beginning of July. Absolutely chucked it down for a couple of hours.

So far today we've had a very light shower that lasted all of two minutes. The clouds look threatening but there's nothing coming down.

Its cooler,

Im hoping that it rains for a moment of time, so i can get the jetwash out and start cleaning my car without being looked at like i am starving the reservoirs of its water

No cloud, no rain, windows are wide open and I'm too hot lol. Looking at BBC weather forecasts seem to be doom laden apocalypse of grey skies and rain and wondering what planet they're on

Yesterday, MIL asked us to pull up a "dead" red leaved shrub (Japanese Maple??), apparently new leaves were quickly turning brown and dying. Yet yesterday, this ~2 foot tall shrub had a cluster of leaves that looked a healthy ripe peach red/orange, I'm no gardener but I thought it was simply showing bad signs of stress from the hot dry summer without getting enough water. Most of her garden gets the strongest sun all day and was scorched brown, only the strip by the fence boundary getting shade looked green.
Yes thats exactly what it is japanese maples need a cool sheltered spot out of full sun which will scorch the leaves and strong winds which will do the same, and not going short of water they will recover given better conditions

Well that’s one heck of a downpour. Haven’t seen rain like that in many many months. Was hoping it would as even the more sheltered parts of the garden need the rain. It’s gotten to the point where my front garden plants are all covered in mildew, it’s just so dry. Even plants I wouldn’t expect.

Wet again, but not cold, approx 21C outside and 21.8C in our lounge with most windows still open (but justy one of two in lounge).

Hoping that predicted Indian summer lasts into the first week of October!

Looks far nicer in Suffolk than the wet, grey and miserable in Hampshire... Tour Of Britain mens cyling race started a short time ago!

My part of S Somerset, highs of 18c over the next 2 weeks.
Turned my night storage on on sunday, earliest I have had it on ever.

I would love to see a chart of predictions V actual temps.
