Glasner says Gheui isnt leaving now, media says they signed his replacement and we will get him....I hope media is right we do need another centre back in on top of Leoni especially with Konate performances of late

salah has assists though

only 6 assists from 45 goals his team mates scored

whys salah got almost twice as many shots as well, is it because isaks useless after about 60-65mins and goes afk on the pitch I wonder.

Honestly don;t think he has the elite mentality, ideally he's probably someone you bring off the bench with about 30 mins to go.

It's weird because he has a marathon runners build, but doesn't have the stamina they do.
The assists tally doesnt bother me, Ian Rush had very low assists tallies too and generally speaking you would expect a winger to have more assists than a centre forward anyway as you'd want the centre forward in the box on the receiving end rather than out at the sides on the providing end

I got downvoted to hell on Reddit last season for suggesting that, despite the goals he scored, Isak had a tendency to be lazy and lacked awareness at times (not to mention being injury-prone).

I got frustrated with him last season. Was a lot more impressive 2 seasons ago when he was just a joy to watch! More spectacular goals!

I wonder if some of that sort of reaction is because people have been saying for ages now how Isak is the best striker in the league or even in Europe and how amazing he is etc etc, then suddenly now that he wants out of Newcastle those same people are speaking negatively about him as a footballer, which ultimately means that either a) they were lying beforehand about how brilliant he is or b) its sour grapes because he no longer wants to be at Newcastle. Probably makes some people think that anyone who is 180ing on their opinion of him as a footballer is doing so out of copium or hypocrisy. Personally, as evidenced by some people in the Newcastle crowd who hurled abuse at Ngumoha when he scored, compared to how they will cheer the same person when he scores a similar winner for England, it merely highlights how for a lot of football "fans" its less about the person than the shirt they are wearing at the time.

Yeah, it's weird — he's obviously a good goalscorer and I would prefer it if he stayed and none of this had happened. And no doubt plenty of people will say we're just being bitter in hindsight, but honestly, he was frustrating to watch at times.

buy him and find out :)

maybe his problem is lack of competition at NUFC, he was always going to play no matter what after Wilson was done.

he definitely has stamina issues mind that was always the same.

Looks like we're going to, as I say though, many of those people slating his abilities recently were crowing about how brilliant his abilities were prior to him saying he wanted to leave (and no doubt would have crowed about him again if he hadnt of done this and had stayed at Newcastle and scored 25 league goals this season), all about the shirt, not the man.

Around 20% of his goals for Newcastle have come after the 60th minute. Are newcastle known for scoring 'late' goals? Do you create much in the final half an hour?

The best people in a sport often are, I get frustrated with Salah doing next to nothing for 80 mins, then he will pop up with a goal or an assist :) , I imagine lots of people used to get frustrated with the way that Messi would spend a lot of a match seemingly just walking about rather than running, then he'd scored 2 goals. Jimmy White used to frustrate me with the way he played, then he'd play a blindingly good frame with some shots that few players could ever do. Senna used to frustrate me in races with his overly gung ho approach to racing, then he'd drive a near perfect race in the rain, Lando Norris frustrates the bejesus out of me with just how awful he is on the first lap of almost every race (especially his terrible starts off the line), then he'll drive an amazing race and win. Its almost like being great at a sport also involves the person being frustrating at the same time because when you can see someones brilliance you get frustrated all the more when they arent being brilliant because you know what they are capable of.

he'll bang in at least a goal per start for you this season, I have no doubt.

If he joins, I'd settle for 20 goals, especially as I guess it will be a while before he starts properly as I cant for a moment think he is match fit right now given the lack of preseason

His early door games will depend on how much you lot high press and how intensely you do it - I found he looked the most tired the games he had to do it more, or if he was coming back from injury and looked tired from the outset.
