Hmm so I am currently using Google one l, and my wife is the plan manager, so not really my subscription.

When I loaded up gemini for the first time, I had a pop up saying I have received 1year for free. Although it sent me to an error and never completed.

Their terms are conflicting, one hand says yes while another says no.

I've just had similar issues as I've went P9 to P10 but when trying to claim the year of free Gemini/storage I just got an error saying the offer couldn't be redeemed.

To get around it I had to go into the Google One app and then Settings, Cancel Membership. Seems that because I still had last year's offer running I couldn't redeem this one as well. As soon as I cancelled the current free membership it allowed me to claim the P10 year. It seems you can't stack them one after the other.

Got my Pro XL on Thursday, I'm on call this weekend so going to set it up on Monday I think as I cant be without my phone on the weekend, what is everyones experience of migrating all the data over? I'm worried about 2FA and things like that? I also ordered the Watch 4 with my creds, I just couldnt help myself going from a Watch 2 :)

MMmm yeah I couldn't resist the PW4 as well, in 45mm, best chip on the market right now and that screen just looks so nice. You're going to see a nice big bump in battery life from your PW2 - but those metal link bands/straps from the google store, £200 wtf

S25 Ultra screen looks pink compared to the P10 Pro XL

I redeemed my 1yr Gemini trial by updating the Google One app, then it worked.
Before updating the app I was getting an error that I was not eligible. I already have a standard 2TB plan with no Gemini and a YouTube Premium subscription
 
Ooh, it's now saying I'm eligible for AI Pro, but I keep getting a spinning wheel after trying to claim, good news that they seem to be sorting this.

What I found more interesting is the G5 beating the Snapdragon 8 elite in quite a lot of the speed tests. Benchmarks would have you believe the Snapdragon should be winning in everything.

I watched a video of the Pro XL Vs the iPhone 16 pro max, and although their chip loads heavy games and apps quicker, the G5 had still loaded some things faster, and not far behind on others. Why is the G5 wining in some areas, benchmarks would say it should not open a single app/game faster than these two chips, yet it does.

Real world performance is closer, and better in some areas than people are saying.

So the Pixel XL and 45W charging.

I find it amusing and telling that a company that always promotes the environment and reducing waste want you to buy a totally new charger just for it's 45W charging system to function. It uses the PD PPS protocol... so why not make it compatible with hundreds of PPS chargers already available!?

Money over all as usual. XL should have come with the charger in the box if that wasn't the case.

Not watched it but yeah it's plenty fast. I don't think anyone has issues with general speed.

Though on another note... Why are all the preliminary GPU results so damn poor? Like really shocking.
