Greenlizard0 Premier League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [30th - 31st August 2025]

I wouldn't, it's not just this game Shami, his behaviour at Grimsby wasn't great either. His post match interview was full of cryptic messages and he's apparently offered to walk before.

I'm not going to argue with you anyway, you're unbearably naive when it comes to United.
Ok dude, what should he have been doing then according to you?

Amorim said that's who is and to get used to it, he's an emotional person.

I keep banging on about it. But not seen any murmurings about a midfielder in a long while. Honestly think getting one will make or break Amorim/our season.
For sure but objectively if our chance conversion was just a bit higher then things look a bit different. Yet again we start well but cannot capitalise on pressure and end up hanging on. As Fez said, all four matches our goalie has thrown at least one in the net. We have not had poor results because the midfield has been run through - albeit we all know the risks

You can moan about players but Burnley were able to recognise at half time and come back away at Old Trafford and United had no answer to it.

That is just poor management.

It's the system at fault...

It's good you're happy with everything..?

I didn't really see a system working there, I just saw chaos, but we have far better attacking players. Mbeumo is very lively in particular. Shame Sesko didn't score, but he wasn't far away.

We have far better attacking players but scored less goals from more xG than them? What are you on about Robbo?

But we do have better attacking players? Burnley just aren't very good - and we only just scraped past them thanks to VAR.

Amorim's tactics didn't help us win that game.

I think they'll wait and see what happens, maybe after 10 games?

I guess we fans need to get used to it, we're a mid table team at best.

Celebrating Bruno scoring the penalty? He literally got out of his chair with not even a smile on his face and walked to the touch line. He's just bagged three points at home, against a club that everyone expects to be relegated this year. I'm happy with the win and I'm always happy with three points, but I'm under no illusion that if we continue to play as we have done since the 2nd half against Fulham, we'll be finishing bottom half of the table again.

Not watching the penalties against Grimsby was a poor show. Your players have a bigger burden taking them and you expect them as professional players to shoulder that burden. The least he could do is watch them.

He's in a leadership position, you can't wear your heart on your sleeve like that. What do you think the players think when they person they're supposed to follow is letting his emotions run away with him?

He hasn't been this open since he joined, it's only a recent thing. Previously he was extremely good with the media as he was charismatic but pragmatic e.g. when he defended Altay, quoting his performance against Arsenal last season when deep down he knows neither he or Onana are good enough.

We scored 1 goal from 2.84xG and you think our attacking was better? How did the tactics not help given we created that much?

?

He's been very open since day one. He called it the worst ever Manchester United team!

Perhaps the stress is getting to him.

In all fairness, the guy rarely shows positive emotion with goals. It’s one of the things I find weirdly annoying about him. He did it a lot last season too. I think he only really celebrates if we’re trouncing someone as it’s then a product of us playing well, which I think is his ultimate goal. Scraping wins doesn’t make him happy, performances do.

As I said, if he'd done that people we still be complaining (people in this thread are literally complaining about us celebrating) I'm glad he's not happy even with the win, the performance was not good enough and the result should have been over by half time. The penalties thing is just silly, managers have no impact on penalties, if he doesn't want to watch then it doesn't matter to me. What do you want him to do grab pom poms?

Before the season I said we should give him 10 games to show some sort of improvement, but have you looked at the fixture list. It'll be tough.

Last season was so exceptionally poor he had to start fast and we've stuttered quite badly.

I said our attacking players are better...
