And in other (unwanted, but I'm still going to share) news...the long distance drive was fine.
Averaged 221 wh/mile whilst pegged at 74mph for the journey yesterday. Supercharging was easy and no issues, timed to coincide with a food + relief break.
Hate ACC phantom breaking, would much prefer dumb cruise control that I previously had though lol

Pulling the trigger on new Model Y this week. Does it come with a granny charger? Or is that what the £180 additional cable is?

Just haven't even started the process of getting a charger. Or should I just buy the ohme pro from octopus for £1k?

No, that is what the £180 cable is. It comes with a type 2 only - assuming this is a new car

Ohme doesnt have cable management, it can look pretty funky having cable slung about in the real world.

Octopus will also install other (better IMO) chargers for a similar price like the Hypervolt or Zappi.

Ok thanks, it will be installed down the side of my house so not massively fussed how it looks, but if the ohme cable doesn't tidy away neatly I can see that being annoying.

There is no granny with the Model Y.

Personally had an original Ohme for 5+ years, and I like the integration it has with Octopus Intelligent Go - not sure if I'd get the new one with all the other chargers that are on offer these days, but it has been great. I also have another identical one but with a commando so it isn't tethered to the house. Can't see my cable so don't care, but it is on a nice hook and wrap system.

One thing I can't seem to do is see rough install dates on octopus, seems to just to right through the payment, keen to see how quickly they can install first.

That was my issue as well, ended up going with an independent electrician who was able to expedite my install. Which meant switching to the Ohme over the Hypervolt.
 
Has anyone picked up that Ford Puma-E deal? I know a couple of people who have gone for it now

It is still available and the cost is now £129.99 per month with £1599.98 up front, so £4,589 all in for 2 years - going to be hard to beat that.

4-5 weeks.
I bought mine 8th August and the earliest available installation date was 9th September
 
The Ohme Pro comes with a separate cable hanger you wrap the cable round. It’s not as neat as some but does the job and keeps the cable neatly coiled up.

I agree in principal that the effects may be negligible but from what I see in most evidence, the biggest effect on EV battery SoH isn't age, it’s the number of recharge cycles it has done (dictated by mileage).

I think it some cases they subcontract the install rather than use their own guys as well so it's completely down to your local area. I got a local guy in the end and it was all installed within 10 days even with a slight delay because he was working away for 3 days.
