Are we over paying tho? Clubs have been throwing 80 odd million at strikers from elsewhere with 10-15 goals in 'weaker' leagues and we've got a guy in that hits 20-25 for 125m (prem proven and all that jazz). Yes its a lot of money, but thats the way the league has gone.

Nah I think 130M is a good price to pay for what is the finished article in the PL, at the start of his best years.

Providing he stays fit for you. Although I think half of his "injuries" last season, based on what we know now were probably fibs.

Yeh I think he will 100% imporve Liverpool and if you've got the money, why not.

His attitude stinks mind re what's happened at Newcastle.

However, this is starting to, and will become more the norm.

Respect to Guehi at Palace, not seen him post on social media, seems to be a good professional, just cracking on with things.

The flip side of this, if he did have a strop, would Palace have sold him earlier?. Shy bairns get nowt.

Not directed at Isak as he is not the first, just worrying if it becomes the norm, why have 5-6 year contracts at all. Maybe Donarumma has done it right signing short term contracts, hah I don't know.

Attitude is worrying. If RM come calling in 2 years will it be the same scenario? What if performance drops in 3 years and he is used as rotational striker rather than starting? Will he refuse to play/sulk?

Still Liverpool have gained one of the best strikers in the league. Defensively they might need some reinforcements, but attacking football should be incredible.

Sell-on fee might do us well if he continues to perform there. Off the books at least. Shame it didn't work out as I always felt he was one of the players that always gave 100% during periods when it felt like many players had given up.

Oh how different things could have been at United if at some point in the last few years we played wingers and told them to go wide and cross the ball in. Wild thought.

Anyway, I'd be really happy to just get Martinez in. I can't see Lammens as well unless we can get rid of Onana and Bayindir today, which seems unlikely. Baleba seems to have gone quiet.

100%, I’m really disappointed that the club have crumbled on a price they have stated it would take all season it was always £ not €, it’s not about the money for me, it was about standing up as a club to show teams just can’t come and take our players, we will be far worse off in the long run after this, also we need to get the washing machine switched on, because we’re about to get rinsed for any player we now go for.
Newcastle's issue isn't so much the price he's been sold for but the way they've dragged this out and ruined the start of their season. If Newcastle were going to do a deal at £125m, this deal could have been done over a month ago and you could have reinvested the money and not gone into the opening 3 games without a striker. Whether the club foolishly believed Isak could be talked into staying or that Liverpool would end up paying considerably more than they have, I don't know but all they've achieved is disrupting the start of the season for you.

I honestly believe that if Newcastle were willing to do the deal when we first approached you, that Ekitike could be a Newcastle player now. It wasn't a coincidence that we made our first approach to Newcastle in the days before the Ekitike deal went through and while I don't doubt that we ideally wanted both, I'm sure a deal could have been done whereby we stepped aside from the Ekitike deal if you agreed to the Isak sale. In the end you've lost Isak, lost out on Ekitike and received a fee well below what you were briefing all summer.

Can’t argue with any of that to be honest, the way we have gone about it has made us look weak as ****
