Does anyone else wish that RGB would just die?

I like a nice static colour in small quantities, otherwise the glass side panel is a bit wasted.

That said, I only use it on my exhaust fan and GPU. The more you add, the tackier it looks.

It can be pretty tasteful if done right and it's a lot more user friendly than in the past.

I used to use cathoid ray tubes to light my cases, then moved to led strips, and now I have RGB fans in my computer. They aren't on all the time, but I do like the ambience they add. I do have it set up to be rather subtle though.

What I don't like is that my mouse wheel has RGB and I just got the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 controller and the thumbsticks on that have RGB rings. That, to me, feels a bit much and I have them disabled for the most part.

Yeah, agreed, it's absolute nonsense and should be criminalised..

Enjoy..

Grow up you silly sausage.
This is beautiful! I love the desk and the separation created by your Tower! Is it both for you, or like a two person setup?

Did you create the framed pictures yourself? I really feel like my setup is lacking now xD

Don't mind it, it's up to the end user and what they want. I've had systems with and without RGB.

What annoys me more is the need for every company to try forcing you to use their own RGB software to control it.
The cost of it is mind boggling looking at rgb cable extensions etc, "how much?!" you can blow hundreds once you add everything up easily the days of buying cathode tubes from dodgy ebay sellers for a few quid are definitely over

I quite like it too. I'm 55 but it brings forth my inner child. I also feel it can look nice and tasteful if done correctly. Not keen on rainbow vomit but a change of colour every now and then amuses me.

Now my case sits under my desk rather than on it, I've turned off what I can.
I never went out of my way for rgb stuff but if the new pc part came with it I used to use it.

Thanks, It's just for me :)
Console gaming on the right, PC on the left.
The frames were from Amazon and pics from Ali-X & Ebay, and all the LED lighting from Ali-X.

I also agree its a bit overdone - I've got a white case; I've got all the lights set to static blue to accent the white. That's it, none of the craziness that so many seem to go with!

One mans meat is another mans poison and all that shizz.

My old pc had some rgb going on. On my recent new build just a few top exhaust fans with some static lighting and govee wall lighting. Thats enough for me now.

I think RGB adds a great look to a pc. I will say i have a few friends that do go 100% brightness unicorn barf that have no order and is just chaos. that style of rgb that screams all or nothing and just for the sake of it is tasteless. but if you plan it well it can look great :)

RGB, motherboards where the priority is looks, window only options on cases.
Give me pure function from a motherboard, more choice of cases with no windows. No stupid lights.

My eyes hurt.

nearing 50 and love them myself too. i blame a few too many 'disco biscuits' during my youth!
I think we have had this convo before :-) either that or my brain is that addled. Those were the days not like the nonsense the kids take these days. I still reminisce but know full well my body couldn't take it anymore despite remaining in good condition

I wrongly thought it would just be a fad but it's still a massive market that doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon.

I've not seen a single thing with RGB that has impressed me, Lan lights that can't be disabled are bad enough.
But they let the board/part manufacturers charge a huge premium for about 50c of parts!

I'm not too bothered with RGB as long as I can still buy the bits without it, or at the very least turn it off.

Mind you I was putting CCFL's and chasing LED's into my case back when most cases were beige and blu was nu and hot! ;)
