Had the Fold3. Was absolutely game changing for watching video. Huge, bright, amazing. Just better overall experience with a bigger screen.Foldables are overhyped, I just cant see myself using it like that. If I wanted to multitask that bad Ill just use my PC or laptop

Vowed never to go back but then you find the biggest two issues. 1) Inner screen is total garbage strength wise, plastic **** you can destroy with hard press of a finger nail. 2) weight, God damn heavy. It actually caused my wrist to ache after a few months.
They’ve come a long way since Fold3 but will wait for Apple to release something more quality, specifically inner screen, though single bendable gorilla style strength glass seems sci-fi still. They’ve talked of “glass reinforced” and such but it’s marketing bs.
Lets hope they do a better job than Samsung did (as in that the matte finish doesnt rub off after a few weeks of usage...).Very interested to see if the rumoured nano texture glass option does appear with the iPhone 17. I'm not especially a fan of glossy displays so I'd be interested to try a phone with a more matte screen.
Some of this is false, the fold 7 is 12g lighter than the iPhone pro max. Some people don't want to carry multiple devices, each to their own but foldable phones aren't a "con"I think the folding phones are a con tbh. They are a solution looking for a problem. I would be amazed to see Apple get into this market unless they can change it. As a phone they are too heavy and while they look great I dont see the use case. A Pro Max phone is perfectly good for most things on the go and the iPad mini picks up the slack when you get there, or the iPad itself. Maybe, just maybe, a foldable phone with an absolutely massive battery would be a thing if you were travelling and only wanted to take one device but I think the phone, tablet, laptop market is already being cannibalised enough without Apple wanting to encourage it even more.
The Fold looks perfect for me as an eBook reader and phone in one. Some of this is false, the fold 7 is 12g lighter than the iPhone pro max. Some people don't want to carry multiple devices, each to their own but foldable phones aren't a "con"
Apple will get into the foldable market, purely because the release of the fold 7 will force them to. They're losing market share. Some people just don't want to admit that apple are stagnant currently. The iPhone design hasn't changed in years because they've played safe.
How long has it been since the first foldable phone came out? Was it 2019?Apple will get into the foldable market, purely because the release of the fold 7 will force them to. Or perhaps it’s because it works and there’s no point in changing something just for the sake of change. *shrug*The iPhone design hasn't changed in years because they've played safe.
Yes, if an ‘iFold’ was not consistently lasting for 6 years plus, it would be a major PR disaster for Apple.Don’t apple like to sit behind the scenes until the tech has evolved enough, and then release something that trumps everything else? I think there are too many caveats where foldables currently are.
If that's all you need, just do that. £85 to get one from Apple.when I could just get a new battery for £65
