Mosquito control

Years ago I made the mistake of thinking that because Latvia was quite far north they didn't have many mosquitoes - how wrong I was!

Lol, 'North'.

I was trekking through Finland into the Arctic circle years ago and after three days in the woods we stopped counting my bites at 110.

I was off my head and looked like some deformed beast coming back to civilization.

You must have a large pond or other body of stagnant water locally, either that or cover your water butts! I'm guessing you're in the country though it ain't a problem around here.

I'd probably be hospitalised after a dozen, I react so badly to insect bites that even one causes really bad inflammation and swelling. This works well as a deterrent.

Oh I make light if it but it sent my immune system haywire, it's never been the same.

Wished I'd had some of that stuff you linked, I only had stubbornness and delirium to see me through

Someone I know swears by the thermacell products.

I'm normally the one that gets munched on, they leave the wife alone, I feel your pain.

Thermacell absolutely wrecks them, they die almost instantly if they go near it, it’s pretty nasty stuff, but it’s by far the most effective mozzie repeller I’ve ever used (I’ve tried almost all of them)

My only suggestion is go back to your N.Ireland roots. A stern telling off in your broadest accent should scare them away. If that doesnt work Petrol Bomb but make sure you have your home insurance up to date

Killing them with petrol bombs did cross my mind but not sure the wife would appreciate that. Maybe I’ll wave a fleg at them and tell them to go back round their own doors.

No I wouldn’t use indoors, it’s pretty nasty stuff.

The Flextail system is pretty good though, that has an “indoor” mode, much less toxic and still effective
