made a difference in the cpu calc heavy games I play so, pretty happy with the upgradeDid the same, no regrets. I'm still CPU bound in plenty of games when aiming for 240fps and using DLSS.

Yes software and even drivers get confused as to which device they're supposed to be using and had a game use it as the basis for its settings as well (very low). No thanks. Is it worth disabling the iGPU in BIOS?
Is there a way to check within Windows if i have it disabled? I think I do, but cba to go back to the BIOS.Yes software and even drivers get confused as to which device they're supposed to be using and had a game use it as the basis for its settings as well (very low). No thanks.
Win+X -> device manager, click on 'display adaptors' tree and see what is listed. Is there a way to check within Windows if i have it disabled? I think I do, but cba to go back to the BIOS.
Thanks, disabled as expected. Forgot I had CPU-Z still installed. which also confirms it.Win+X -> device manager, click on 'display adaptors' tree and see what is listed.
At that cost you would get import tax etc on it so I would double check the cost before buying itI can get this cpu for £275 from China is it worth an upgrade from my 7800X3D? I could probably sell the 7800X3D for around that much so a potential free upgrade?
If you get stung for VAT/handling then you're not saving enough over a UK sourced CPU with a warranty.I can get this cpu for £275 from China is it worth an upgrade from my 7800X3D? I could probably sell the 7800X3D for around that much so a potential free upgrade?
What are your temps like on a Cinebench R24 run or an Aida64 stress test?I recently upgraded to this chip from a 7800X3D. I'm running an NZXT Z73 360mm AIO with Thermal Grizzly Duronaut paste. I'm seeing temps around 50-60c when gaming but when I'm doing things like preloading shaders it's jumping to nearly 95c!!! I've also seen it jump into mid 80s when loading levels. This seems on the high side?
I'm running a -20 UV, +200MHz and motherboard limited for PBO. Clock wise it seems to hold 5.4GHz all core but I wasn't expecting to see temps into the 90c+.
I'm wondering if I botched the thermal paste application as it was a right sod to actually spread.
I've just run it and temps maxed out at 79c.What are your temps like on a Cinebench R24 run or an Aida64 stress test?
I'm running my 9800X3D with a Noctua D12L cooler and I've never seen it go above 82/83 during one of those runs (with -25 on CO).
There's never been anything wrong with this CPU, user idiocy and vendor (ASRock) stupidity have killed a few.So is it safe to get this CPU yet? I am out of the loop and only remember the headlines about it dying.
oh really, ok not sure where I got that idea from then, I might look into upgrading as I am not sure whether my 4090 is held back by the 5800X3D or not at 4KThere's never been anything wrong with this CPU, user idiocy and vendor (ASRock) stupidity have killed a few.
