Ideas for a London visit.

Come to South Kensington. I can give you a VIP tour of the Natural History Museum, including some of the behind-the-scenes stuff, and you've got the science museum and V&A museum across the road. Harrods is a 5 minute walk away and if you fancy a nice afternoon tea, the Royal Albert Hall does a really good one for decent money too. Then you've got Hyde Park up the road where you can rent bicycles and have a nice little pootle to Oxford Street if you fancy it.

Hampton Court Palace (30 or so min train from Waterloo), the recent interactive art exhibitions like Frameless/Twist Museum/Sensas, Virginia Water is beautiful lake outside of London or Kew Gardens.

Back from London and here's a sample of what we got up to:
Ate Italian, Lebanese, Tapas, sushi and others too
Visited and did:
Horrible histories show
Camden market
Narrow boat ride to little Venice
Houses of parliament (no old men sleeping)
Churchill's war rooms
Seen downing Street and several protests
Spy games event (think crystal maze with spies)
Went to Bletchley park (really good)
Did the phantom peak event (think escape room as a village meets problem solving meets interactive characters and events)
Secret cinema showing of grease
Went through Battersea power station (very hip and modern...)
Comedy night

Yes, stay away, go elsewhere
Nah. I do like the UK and when we visit a new area I want to see what's new and unique to that area. Last 12 months have included all the above as bounce below, sea fishing and climbing in North Wales with FluffySheep jnr, so I love the variety we have and I'm staying.

That I'll agree with. North Wales, lovely. London to visit, Incredible. London to live in, no thanks.

I grew up in North London until I was about 23/24, **** living in that place.

On topic, the Montague Pike just up from Leicester Square is good, been there many times but the one I usually go when I'm down is The New Crown in Southgate, which to be fair is a bit of a **** hole only because it hadn't been redecorated since about 1890, but it's cheap.

I’m heading to London for 4 nights from this Saturday, seen and done a ton of stuff on previous visits but this time will visit the V&A museum, Harry Potter tour, RAF museum and maybe a stately home / palace

Me and the missus like to visit a few markets also , mainly for the food - we’ve been to Camden and Borough plenty so fancy somewhere different , any recommendations?

Don’t mind if it’s a bit pricey as long as it’s great food and not just overpriced rubbish

Maltby Street Market is a good one if you haven't been there before. I went to one in Mayfair last year called Mercato Mayfair - a lot of good options tbf. I think they have another one in Elephant and Castle too.

If you don't mind a walk, tracking the Regent's canal from Kings Cross to Hackney Wick is pretty great, lots of narrowboats to read out the names of, food, people watching, wildlife!
