42 here, been struggling trying to find stuff to play that I enjoy.
The MMO itch came back this year, I got to end game in New World, and then later Throne & Liberty. They are both good leveling experiences, but end game is PvP focused and generally sucks, finding a chill guild in T&L was a huge bonus. I just bought into the Star Citizen Alpha to check out the tech, buggy but extremely immersive.
I find coop experiences with friends tends to be a lot better, the new PEAK is great fun with friends, so is Schedule I, even older games like Raft. But getting everyone together is rare, and there's no real public lobby system for a lot of these good coop games.
I always have some puzzle games on the go, The Rise of the Golden Idol is fantastic and I'm still finishing up the 3 DLC packs before the final drops Q4. Extremely satisfying deductive puzzles.
I miss not having a go-to online game that I love, I tried more coop ones like Helldivers 2 and Warhammer Darktide but they never quite became regulars of mine, only thing I have seen that I'm really looking forward to in the near future is Jump Space (formerly Jump Ship) a coop 1-4 player, it should get early access in 2 weeks on steam, it looks really good. Much of online multiplayer today feels like slop quite frankly.
If anyone has had a good coop or PvE experience lately please let me know. I'd love to be able to dive into a lobby online and play something that has fun moment to moment gameplay and ideally some longer term meta progression on top of that.
