How to stop spiders invading the garage?

There seems to be no end, they invade and conquer every part of my garage.

It's relentless. I'm concluding there is no fix for this, but last resort asking the OCUK community - anything that has worked?

I thought the only way to control spider population was to control what they eat.

Easier said than done I would assume. Guess you would need to see where they make a web and see what they are capturing to eat and then try and stop that insect getting in.

Peppermint oil spray

Citrus peels - Rub them on entry points

Vinegar solution - Equal parts water and white vinegar, spray where you don't want them

I mean if you really want zero bugs... Get some industrial deltamethrin and spray it across the thresholds and windows.

I used it once right after a kitchen renovation and things would walk a few centimetres into the room and then drop dead, for months.

Would you prefer spiders or bees and wasps etc? Spiders are really good at keeping the flying pests away.

I could come round and release several thousand Indian Red Scorpions in your garage, in your house, and bed. They will eat the spiders.

I used to have loads in my garage, I still have a few, you'll never stop them coming in.
But if you remove the ones you do have, you will at least stop them laying eggs which hatch into hundreds of spiders. If you see any spider nest bags, vacuum them up. It should reduce the number over time.

I go round with my henry hoover once a year and vacuum all the corners and anywhere where there's webs.

Was just driving to a trampoline soft play with my two little ones in the back and the wife in the front. Saw a rather large spider slowly lower itself down from the rear view mirror, say hi and then pop back up.

I wasn’t going to say anything but then the wife spotted it.

The resulting screams of ‘pull over’! And ‘it’s going to get me!’ were so loud that when I did eventually find somewhere safe to stop so that she could exit the BMW quicker than a chicken with a rocket up its backside - she actually fell out of the passenger side door onto the pavement.

It was perhaps one of the funniest things I’ve ever witnessed.

This all happened 15 mins ago. Smashing.

Leave them alone, they'll stop the bugs and other pests
