Oooof good choice, that’s lovely @Feek . I just had the heart sinking reminder of when I realised I lost my Meisterstuck a year or so ago. Part of me thinks maybe in the office, another potentially during our house move either way it’s definitely gone. I’d had it for about 18 years and, while it’s not exactly their top of the line, I loved that pen.

Got some cheap parts from china to have a play with building a DIY home server. Cant complain given the Xeon I got is 10 core and cost a bank breaking £2.99

I've never made a home server before so good luck to me figuring it all out. Just need to hunt down some more bits on the cheap.

How much did that set you back if you don't mind me asking?

A selection of 10mm clamp levers and 10 diamonds. The cutting inserts have PCD diamond tips and will cut anything softer than a diamond (i.e., most things).
The Chinese really like thier plastic bags don't they? Everything double-bagged.

12mm solid carbide 90deg chamfering tool. Just £12 from Aliexpress, costs 2-3x that from a UK supplier.

and... just placed an order for a 3-axis DRO kit for my milling machine. Figured it was time to move it into this century. There's going to be issues fitting it but when complete will be a great improvement in utility of the machine.

My NAD amp exploded, so decided to give some Chi-Fi a whirl. This Aiyima A80 DAC/Amp is a dinky little thing but punches well above it's weight.

Just reading up on that - it seems it would benefit from some isolation as mains hum (50Hz) comes through. If you replace the Brick with a better brick and possibly isolate the usb (relatively easy) it should push that last bit on the noise front.

Not hearing any mains hum from this one. I was a little underwhelmed when I first turned it on, but after running in a bit and a touch of EQ it sounds rather good now. It's not beating my Naim/Falcon Acoustics setup downstairs, but it's as good as anything for a desktop setup, and great value.
