Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (2024)

HDR is done really well in this, even the GamingTech HDR optimised settings guy on YT said it's nearly perfect with just a slight tweak needed to peak brightness in game to get the speculars just right (1200nits ingame if you have a 1000 nits HDR OLED).

I've resumed this after a while. Went into the catacombs. Absolutely stunning artwork. I like how they've made the doors/entries smaller than they usually are in other games. It gives such a feeling of thigh space and a bit of claustrophobia.

Of course, graphics do add significantly to the experience. Very smooth performance overall, path tracing at 4k on a 4080... not bad.

No expansion for gamepass paupers like myself :p Base game was okay, can't see myself paying for the expansion though...

Going to get gane pass one day just to play this for the graphics I think. It does look very good.

At least I can play it properly maxed out with RTX hair unlike mrk :p

Is it available on steam? Maybe I wait a year or so and buy on there with dlc on the cheap. By then will have a 6070Ti too

Yeah, I'd say is one of the best if not the best when it comes to material work and path tracing helps make everything "pop up" due to the way even smaller geometry can properly cast dynamic shadows as you move around. It feels like a demo in way. For me it helps to sell very, very well the believability of the world.

At least that vRAM is put to good use. 4k@DLSS Performance (downscaled to my "puny" 1080p display), it has over 15GB vRAM used, without FG. :)
Also, updated manually to the latest DLSS versions, it appears to have the most responsive GI yet (I haven't played yet the latest Doom).

nvm checked steam reviews - users say the dlc is short, linear and feels like an extension to the Vatican map, 3 hours of gameplay

Very expensive

Poor Grim. Everything is becoming very expensive for him these days.

Rewind a few years, the guy was riding the forums on his high horse looking down at everyone. Smashing his 3090 with a hammer.

Fast forward to today, a small piece of dlc has become too expensive. How the mighty have fallen :p:cry:

Finished it last night.

Epic in places. More of the same as the base game really...I cannot help but feel it was part of the base game & removed & polished for 9 months to get some more income out of it though....On gamepass its around £32 your only option is to buy the Premium Edition! on Steam if you own the base game its only £17 or so.

Some of those puzzles are really tricky they should have made them more user friendly as some take ages to practice & get right. None seemed to be bugged if they do not allow you to progress just reload the last checkpoint. Some of the puzzles though are poorly designed & very frustrating should be patched in an option to skip some as they are so fiddly :(

The worse thing about the DLC is its about half the size of many other full price games as 10-12 hours long plus how long you want to spend mopping up all the collectables you missed on the playthru! Yet its only a throwaway standalone DLC

For sure DLSS & Nvidia is the way to play this looks incredible 1920x1080 + DLSS 3.5 plus all options to max (except new hair FX says its needs more than 16GB VRam ).

Hopefully the team behind this can now make a proper sequel just more of the same though please is all they need to do.
