I have the current G4 Pro doorbell and don't like it due to it's size, so I may well swap it out.

About to order an AI Turret for the back of the house, but will also look at the G6 Turret
G6 is really nice. AI didn't seem worth the price for 2 way audio, SD card and 10m more IR range.

I've got a G5 Turret ultra and a G6 turret that I need to fit still. I've got a 4TB M2 Drive in the CGF ready though.

Considering removing the NVR and getting a 4TB SSD for the cloud gateway plus, UNVR has 2 x 12TB drives, works well, but only have 4 cameras

I’ve only stuck one HDD in my unvr. If it fails and the recordings are lost, I’m really not bothered, it’s just a home CCTV box.

12x 12gb for 4 cameras is somewhat overkill. You most have at least 3 months of recordings mirrored across both drives.

Bit of a PITA with the new G6 Doorbells.. No WiFi and PoE only.

I am kicking myself because when I had the house extended, I ran loads of CAT6 cable around the house, but due to it being a little awkward I left the door bell with just the two bell wires going back to the consumer unit (which I use to power an EzViz (Hikvision) door bell camera)..

Because that part of the house is a bit difficult to get a cable all the way to the loft or nearest network switch, I might have to consider using a PoE WiFi Bridge..

Ubiquiti do their own for this exact situation, but it's £95 and isn't PoE+, its PoE @ 15W, enough the the Lite Doorbell, not quite enough for the Pro.. might see what the regular G6 Doorbell requires, but no tech specs yet (that I can see)

[edit] I'm already looking at creative ways to get a cable through the wall, then back out and up some of the woodwork and into the eaves stealthily, I have a spare PoE port in the Loft..

About to pull the trigger on a big 10Gbit + WiFi 7 upgrade haul.

Was also thinking about installing an additional camera at the front of our place but with specific caveats:
  • likely needs to sit inside looking out, so through our large sash window at the front (this is due to large wisteria growing over the front of our house)
  • needs to have discreet power cable that I can neatly route around a skirting board, and up behind shutters on sash
As far as I can see, this pretty much narrows it down to G4 Instant, G5 Flex, G6 Instant.

Anyone installed one of these in similar fashion?

The aim is to get something that can sit as close to the glass as possible the further away you go the more reflections you will get.
You'll almost certainly not be able to use any IR as well (for any camera that has it).

With all this new Unifi sensor stuff do we think they release any more lighting products.

I picked up a g4 instant with this intention but ended up putting it outside. You can pick up a silicone support case off ebay that you stick inside to the glass and the g4 faces outward. https://ebay.us/m/CI0Vyz

The g4's aren't easy to get tho.

Also a generic brand 5m usb c cable works. The 2.xx meter usb c was too short and unifi's longer cable is more money.
