I'm recently putting together a new build PC and I'm wondering if I should go for a 9060xt 16GB or pay an extra £100 for a 5070ti 16GB. I'm thinking about better/more stable drivers and DLSS etc. In your opinion is it worth paying the extra for a 5070ti?

Cheers

I'm thinking about better/more stable drivers and DLSS etc.
The drivers for the 50 series have been worse than AMD, probably because nvidia doesn't give a hoot about games anymore (AI, AI, AI ).

DLSS, sure, but FSR4 on the 90 series is much, much better than FSR3 was. You're on a tight budget anyway right? I'd just get the 9060 XT 16GB.

Yeh I'd get this

Unless you can stretch to this

That's going to be out of budget unfortunately. I just remember hearing stories of AMD driver issues (a while ago to be fair) with people having driver timeouts, black screens etc. Are these things generally not an issue anymore?

Anecdotally I'd say moreso with Nvidia at the moment.

£470 gets you a 5070 though so not sure I'd buy a 9070 for £500

Nope.. My last 3 cards have been radeons.
Rx480, 6800xt and now 9070xt... All been solid as a rock.

Driver support is a big thing for me.. Nvidia seem to pretend thier cards don't exist once they are about 2 years old.

And I dual boot with Linux also.. And amd compatibility is light-years ahead on that.

Is a big card though, 305mm is starting to be an issue with some compact cases.

Literally just thought about that, yeah. The Montech AIR 100 ARGB, Micro-ATX, which is the case I've opted for supports up to 330mm. Not sure how tight it'd fit once it's actually in the case though

Anyone know for sure if the XFX Swift 9060 XT Gaming OC Dual Fan 16GB GDDR6 has idle fan/fan stop when the GPU is idle/low temp? I've searched the OCUK listing and the manufacturer listing and can't see it mentioned anywhere
