That was fast. My gut feeling is they might struggle, you need a very strong team to play swashbuckling football.

Don't think it was that fast, rumors of nuno fallout with the owner/edu started 22nd Aug, was always going to be gone in the intl break, 3 odd weeks to hash out the finer details

I'd be interested to hear what Forest fans think because on one hand he is undoubtedly a lunatic and by all accounts a very unsavoury character but on the other hand without him Forest aren't in the PL this season let alone Europe.

Forest fan here..

Our Big Fat Greek Owner is almost definitely dodgy, but like the fans of oil money clubs, we'll overlook that while he's chucking money in and improving the club, which he has undoubtedly done despite his erratic behaviour.

As for the decision to sack Nuno, it's down to who he brings in, please not Big Ange, but it will be.

But last season we all tended to feel that even though we were in the race for Champs League, if it were a running race, everybody else was striding along a flat track, we were a toddler running down a hill at full pelt and barely keeping our balance with legs and arms windmilling until we finally went bum over breast and face planted, which we kinda did.

I suspect that the view of the owner is that Nuno was limited to a counter attacking style of play and with the fire power he's brought in he wanted a more 'rock and roll' style, hence my certainty that Ange will come in. The Greek connection also helps I imagine.

As a Spurs fan, I wish him well, but you're going to get hamstrings pinging all over the place if he tries to play the same system. We have the fastest player in the league and even he has had to re-learn how to run after Ange was done with him.

He is not going to last until Halloween if he signs....

A team built on defensive and being solid is the complete opposite of Ang ball. Chris Wood isn't going to press up front with the required intensity at his age and his principles vs the owner's ego is going to mean only Ang will lose out.

It's going to be the best paid 3 weeks of his career.

Its a completely different squad this year, hence why I'm ambivalent at the moment, I'm not sure Nuno would have adapted his playing style to the tools at his disposal.

Edit: And TBH, we only got to where we were because Wood massively out performed, i cant see him scoring at the same rate again, his conversion rate was ridiculous over the course of a season.

Quite the 180 from Forest, going from Nuno's ultra defensive counter attacking style to Ange's suicidal high line. Who knows how things will go in the short term but I can't see a scenario where this doesn't end in disaster. Ange has got a bit of a mouth on him and showed he was happy to fight with anybody while at Spurs and Marinakis is your stereotypical mediterranean hothead.

Big risk for Ange going there and no way he plays the same open attacking Spurs way over at Forest, they'd be ripped to shreds, it'll be boring tight at the back etc.. slow build up and ball play. Suspect he'll be fine for the rest of the season, though doubt he starts next season however. First fixture against Arsenal will be spicy!
Forest will be fine, think there's 5 poorer teams to play out over the season

Aussie sports press were reporting this was going to happen two weeks ago. Hopefully will be entertaining at least!
