Moving into the middle of nowhere (England or Wales)?

This looks like it might fit the bill....

middle of nowhere is when your mind goes totalitarian. Usually you want a bit of everything, you just want a bit less of the people thing. Surrey is a busy county, so there's quite a few options for less busy counties. Rule of thumb, has no motorway, is a bit of a quieter area.

As much as the above looks nice, what would you do there? What would keep your mind occupied ? how far is it to civilisation?

If the internet connection is decent and stable, do my usual mix of forum/news browsing; youtube; prime video streaming; zwift. Plus the crutial one for me before moving there would be nice cycling lanes/hills, ideally on doorstep or at most ~10 miles away like currently and hopefully not very hostile roads close to home (unlikely going by the photo).

The other important one for us would be food delivery and courier delivery.

No idea how far away civilisation is, as I got older GP and hospital location would be more important, but other than that I wouldn't be too bothered besides distance to train station.

How much do you like rain? Rurual England is probably going to be the most comfortable and it's never too far away from civilization.

Oh this is definitely a dream of ours too. We've had so many shocking neighbours we just can't wait until retirement when we'll hopefully disappear into the countryside away from cretins.

Currently having to deal with two antisocial imbeciles in his and hers souped up BMW'S (looking like something out of max power magazine) that come back at 2am and wake the whole road up. Awful people.

Well, North Wales can be amazingly isolated. But, is it people you want to avoid or do you just want peace and quiet? A sense of invisibility or isolation? You are more invisible in the centre of a city than the top of a mountain.

Plenty to do, keep animals, tend the garden, go for walks/bike rides somewhere you're significantly less likely to be stabbed/robbed, go to the beach & learn to surf (ok, not necessarily that particular house, but similar isolated properties nearer the coast), blacksmithing, woodwork, play music, read books, play video games, watch TV, etc.

Exactly the same things you would do living in a ***** house/flat in a ***** city, except without the stress of worrying about your activities interfering with your neighbours, and their activities interfering with you.
