Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

My comment was somewhat tongue in cheek. :)

I really like your record deck isolation, was it just screwed directly to the studs/brick work?

Hope he enjoys that similar off angle response. :D

Some designs are worse than others for example this one with the drivers placed around the baffle

I know it was tongue in cheek lol :D

The wall is concrete block, All the fixings are screwed directly to the blocks. As you can see below, the Acrylic slab is held by the adjustable suspension wires from above and held by the adjustable wall clamps from below.

My speakers are 1250mm tall, with the top 1800mm down from the ceiling.
Now if you knew anything about the way sound radiates from speaker drivers, you would know that it doesn't travel in straight lines. The clue is in the word "radiate"
Once a room is treated to deal with unwanted reflections in the right places, unless laying on the floor, or being strapped to the ceiling, off axis listening is very very easy.
As you don't actually have an audio system though, you wouldn't know this.

Easy enough to show your differences, if you have UMIK1, compare against standing level and optimal level.

You're right I don't have an audio system, I have three. :D

Music and the enjoyment of, is what hifi is about. Not some mathematical comparisons that you have read about on the net.
None of us will ever know what your "standing and optimal levels" are, because in all 315 pages of this thread:

Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

you have never once posted a pic of your system, let alone all 3 of them.

Just done a quick REW response, at sofa LP, then mic at head height (5'10") way off axis vertically and horizontally.

A noticeable difference in the responses. Measurable differences, compared to personal opinion.

Years ago I used to have my LP12 on a small(ish) patio paving slab that was fasted to a wall in a similar way, house was rented at the time. I was told to remove it... :D

just tested Wiim Ultra PEQ recommended settings into REW manual response, entered those into the EQ section (umik mic used for the wiim app and rew)

Pretty accurate results from the Wiim app, corresponding to the peaks in rew.

Luckily, my wall and house are not rented :D
I'm a firm believer that record decks, especially suspended decks (like my Orbe and the LP12) should be on a wall. I've heard more than my fair share of decks over the years that were sat on floor racks. Even those on a concrete floor sounded better when on a wall. I never have heard any deck on a suspended floor that didn't sound much much better on a wall. I have a friend with an Air Force One, even that sounds much more detailed when wall mounted. Mind you, lifting it onto the platform is a 2 man job :D

If you have Wiim streamers try out PEQ. If you have large peaks in the frequency range. Most obvious is bass and I'd set a cap of 300/400hz.. With my speakers I have peaks 90hz-127hz. Only applying 3/4 PEQ filters per channel

Easy enough to enable/disable from the app, not needing TV, or PC etc.

I use two different speakers on same system (only one pair on at a time) so useful to switch between the two whilst music on a set pair , playing to do A/B comparisons PEQ on/off.
Tricky adding PEQ to a regular Hifi that works easily.

I recently purchased a Yamaha TC-1000 tape deck from 1978 — making it 47 years old. At the time, it was Yamaha’s flagship model, retailing for over £650 in the UK. This one is particularly rare in black and comes with the rosewood case.

The playback quality is very good, honestly can't fault it, it's at least good enough I'm not looking for another tape deck. Over the years, I’ve owned Pioneer decks and a high-end Memorex unit, but this Yamaha is easily the best I’ve had.

Just to clarify I'm not spending my life listening to tape, 90% of what I listen to is still streaming, I have a SACD player and Technics 1200g also, I wanted the ownership experience and knowing this is on the rack next to other gear.

At the moment, it does have an auto-stop issue that needs fixing, but I’ll be sorting that out soon.

EDIT forgot to mention I also have a Yamaha K-350 from 1980, that was posted here.

Thanks for the recommend I will hunt some out on eBay! I had a look some are quite expensive.

I just had a thought I wonder if my TC-1000 is the oldest piece of gear in this audio thread, then again there must be some vintage turntables such as Sondek LP12's in here :D

Added a second screen whilst I work away, unconventional screen, that is :p

Yeah it's in a window, yeah that's a roller blind from the range, yeah it's fantastic lol.

RAW cr2 straight to jpeg, that's how vivid it is lol:

That looks amazing! - the colours are really popping off the screen! - not what I expected to see from a projector, congrats

It has been massively impressive, though I am on a grey screenm so contrast and colours do pop nicely vs a white screen that doesn't have the same impact. I say screen but of course it's just a matte blackout roller blind. the Dangbei MP1 Max wasn't quite this crisp for both colour and image though, but it is still excellent for its price bracket. The valerion just has more control over the picture and more projection settings to play with.

Is the component rack Atacama? I have Atacama Eris 2 and I recognise the leg / spike design.
