That's odd, as my Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB is still on 4B2QJXD7, with Samsung Magician showing no updates for it. Is there a manual method to update the drive?

It seemed Samsung pulled new firmware about 2 weeks ago so I managed found someone uploaded new Samsung 990 Pro firmware 6B2QJXD7 iso to google drive.
Samsung magician Firmware Update stuck after 2.5 hours.
I do not allow my BIOS to do that.

Now I know that the firmware is possibly problematic, I'll not be updating with this firmware. I will give you a short summary. Transcript is now available.
Jay is an idiot and he need glasses to read. He not updated his motherboard BIOS to latest version 3.40, retail Crucial T500 SSD original firmware was P8CR002, the firmware P8CR004 on Crucial website was old version, not the latest version. He said firmware P8CR013 is the latest version, Jay probably updated it from Crucial Storage Executive. He tested Asrock X870E Taichi motherboard back in December 2024 he installed beta BIOS version 3.17, Asrock later released BIOS version 3.17 to public but then pulled 3.17 from website due to CPU voltage issues. He now installed BIOS version 3.20 released on 24 February 2025 and said BIOS version 3.20 fixed SSD drive disappeared issue. Jay backtracked now admitted it not Microsoft fault and nothing to do with Windows update KB5063878 so now he think it is AGESA issue and he now pointed blames to AMD who is fault, not Microsoft.
Jay should updated his Asrock X870E Taichi motherboard BIOS to latest version 3.40 released on 1 September 2025 then Jay would never posted his stupid videos falsified claimed Windows update KB5063878 caused widespread SSD failures.
I read thousands comments found Jay commented he did not updated AMD chipset driver so he think it did not mattered. Well Jay you never know! Should update AMD chipset driver to latest version 7.06.02.123 released on 13 June 2025 first to see if it could fix SSD disappeared issue.

Although he does ramble a bit, he did raise a pertinent question. Why was the rig he was using working fine for months until the Windows update? It appears to be a strange combination of factors that resulted in the drive detection failures he started having. Phison seem to be struggling to work it all out too.
Yeah, I don't think Athlon's summary is quite correct, though he does seem to have been onto something with the AMD connection. It does look like something changed during August and nobody quite knows what it is yet.
I think that I followed Jay's video, kinda difficult at times, but the update to 3.20 BIOS seemed to have been successful in his testing situation, in not at that time repeating the issue.
I think he talked about going back to the beta BIOS to test if the problem returned.....
But I don't think that he actually did that, or did I miss that part.?
I take his point about testing retail type products only, but I would doubt that the motherboard he used would have been sold in retail with a beta BIOS..?

As mentioned above I'd already started a return for a full refund, so decided to proceed with that, as this latest bit of information wasn't out yet. Now I know what the issue is, I'll likely get the same model or similar specced drive from Samsung etc. The 9100 pro 4tb model perhaps?

My summary is correct but I didnt realised until I read transcript what Jay said was not quite correct.
Jay said system been ran fine from December 2024 till September 2025 with same BIOS he updated back in December 2024 he claimed he not updated BIOS since December 2024.
Let fast forward around 15 mins to 20:05...
Jay later said he downloaded beta BIOS 3.17 on 10 January 2025 and he must be updated it on that day, not christmas eve on 24 December 2024 Jay said.
Here are some plotholes in latest video that had me doubts about Jay. Wondered did he covered it up about his Crucial T500 firmware and updated to latest version P8CR013 on 10 September 2025 after he received email from Tom? Jay never mentioned when the last time he updated his Crucial T500 firmware and he never showed evidence screenshot of Crystaldiskinfo with SSD firmware version.
I googled found earliest information mentioned Crucial T500 firmware P8CR013 was on valid.x86.fr that the new firmware was released before 10 March 2025.

The old Crucial T500 firmware P8CR004 on website was modified on 9 September 2024. I dont know why Crucial not put T500 firmware P8CR013 on website, maybe Crucial pulled it like Samsung did with 2 Samsung 990 Pro firmwares 5B2QJXD7 and 6B2QJXD7 due to issues?
