Plenty of people have survived shots to the neck, and even directly to the head. The mortality rate of penetrating neck wounds is far lower than you might think.
This guy deliberately shot himself in the neck. Due to the position he was sitting in, the bullet missed every vital spot on its way through his body, and he recovered with very little treatment or rehabilitation.

Even as a conservative I don't agree with everything Charlie says (namely around Ukraine and russia) but this is shocking to see.

That looks like it hit the jugular to me, he's not gonna make it.
Hopefully pulls through then, for the sake of his young child at least. It doesn't look good though.

He has two young children, IIRC. Kirk himself is only 31 years old, and his wife is 35. As a parent myself, I can imagine how she's feeling right now.
Tend to prefer not to see death and gore, frankly, but happened to accidentally see the footage. I'm no expert, but would be surprised if that's survivable.

If Pool's sources are correct and Kirk is stable, it's unlikely to be the jugular.
Utah has the death penalty, and it includes the option of a firing squad. This is one shooter who's almost certainly not getting away with life in prison.
Is he conscious yet? A jugular hit could mean he’s stable but with brain damage. It’s probably far too early to say.

He will almost certainly be under sedation, and likely in, or just out of surgery at the very best.
I suspect we will know little concrete news till early tomorrow at the very soonest.
