This Instant And Moment - 2025!

Another pigeon update.

Long story short…

We may end up buying a coop and be given another pigeon to keep it company.

Taking up pigeon fancying?

We don't need a coop, we have a cherry tree in the front garden and each summer we have a pair cooing and breeding over and over. They vacate when the leaves drop but we host nesting pigeons every year.

Good luck.

Had a spate of power cuts around my area yesterday afternoon resulting in work through the night - preliminary looks like someone did it intentionally - hopefully not sabotage related to world events.

It could just be copper thieves. They're on the rise in these parts as scrap metal prices have risen.

We're still undecided on what to do really. She seems to be getting her energy back. The owner/person who flew her for the deceased person has said we could keep her. We've been talking to someone about 10 minutes from us who flies them for advice and they said if we want to keep her, they'll give us another one to keep her company or we she can help us rehome it. Supposedly a lot of fliers often put 'bad racers' down as not worth them putting effort into it. Once we heard that we realised giving it back to the original person wasn't really an option.

Just not sure if I fancy cleaning up poo from another animal as we have a cat and dog. I did always say I wanted a parrot and I suppose this is like a parrot from Temu!

We'll keep her until her poo gets back to normal. It's all rather green at the moment and the person we've been in contact with said they could be a bit poorly

Wasn't theft, but I don't know the exact details, was multiple points of failure over a short time within a few miles, with likely vandalism involved.

Arrived home a few years ago to find the entire place and all the surrounding areas in darkness, quite an eerie feeling.

Turns out someone had driven into a power building at the bottom of the road, some crash as it was a made of brick and set quite far back from the road.

Power was out the entire night, had electric gates at the time so had to jump the fence and manually release them to let myself and the dogs in :o

Annoyingly didn't save it and now it has corrected itself, but just had Google AI search create a completely fictitious crash where a KC2 Voyager ZZ337 crashed in the New Forest killing 48 people when searching to find out if the KC2 Voyager ZZ337 currently running an engine test was one of the ones damaged by protestors recently...

When delving into deeper AI mode to see why it returned that result it came up with:

The 2025 Angara Airlines crash
On July 24, 2025, an Antonov An-24 passenger plane operated by Angara Airlines crashed in Russia's far east, killing all 48 people on board.

-The incident occurred as the aircraft was preparing to land in the town of Tynda, in the Amur region.
-The aircraft had dropped off radar, and its burning wreckage was later found in a remote, forested area.
-The crash is unrelated to the RAF Voyager ZZ337, but was returned in searches due to the timing of news reports and similar keywords.

AI responses may include mistakes. Learn more

It didn't just get a bit confused it generated a whole story about an incident which never happened.

Weird 36 hours.

Had a phone call from my mum in the morning, saying that old older brother had a seizure at night, his mrs called an ambulance - rushed to hospital, load of scans - large brain tumour discovered. At first they thought it was benign, but more news come in saying it's malignant and they're going to operate.

It's massive apparently, (tennis ball size)

It's all a bit weird right now and I don't really know how to react, I'm in the middle of a huge project at work and I kinda don't want to down tools, but at the same time I don't feel like working.

On another side it's also weird, in that he's actually been discharged now and is heading to a different hospital I think tomorrow or over the weekend where they're going to prep to operate, so I've not actually seen him yet, mum and dad and other family members have.

So it's all a bit weird, all a bit strange right now.

If i could give any advise, if he is going in for the op, even if its to determine, please make sure the hospital take care of him pre and post operation.

I am talking from experience of a direct family member.

I am not going to say any more than this, as in all honestly, i dont want to think about it.

Please go and see him, and spend some time

Yeah so far the NHS have been excellent, they've been really fast - but this is early days and new territory for all of us.

But as for what's coming, the coming weeks and months are going to be hard to navigate.

Wishing you all the best,

unfortunately the same happened with my brother (during the last covid lockdown) he was at 2 hospitals, one was the st Georges in london.

He had a malignant tumor on his brain discovered, there was a 2-3 month period of scans, analysis, then he went in for the op - Unfortunately a day or 2 after the op he got discharged and thats when things didnt go well

Different people have different outcomes. But it is quite a risky op i think.

Just be there for him and your family, and im hoping it goes well for you all,

Spent 24 hours awake yesterday, from leaving home to going on a drinking binge in Merida, Spain.

Walked up a big hill (Arroyo San servan) today in the baking heat. My mate looked like he was dying halfway up, but we got to the top.

About to go out drinking again.

Life is good.
