*** Big Fat Weight Loss Thread ***

Oh, and while I remember, I did lose 10Kg in ~12 days once, those Malaria tablets will screw you over, but if you want to lose weight fast, I've never seen anything faster outside of amputation...

Obvs a joke, I couldnt trust a fart for 2 weeks and felt like crap...

Frustratingly I got caught up in work today and couldn’t get to the lane swimming session at the pool. Going to stick at the swimming for a bit as it seems to be doing my back good and also working well with the diet/goals. Static bike at the gym I feel is better for me to get my heart going and expend more calories, but I can’t seem to get my back right at the moment so will have to persist with swimming. Would also be good to get a couple more long autumnal cycles in, but let’s see how we go with creating time for that!

My wife is thinking of giving up alcohol in October, so I’ll join her for that. Couldn’t resist a couple of glasses of cremant this evening!

Just sneaking under 90kg this week, so maintaining things well whilst also able to enjoy what I’m eating and drinking.

One more week on Mounjaro @ 2.5mg. Felt quite hungry in the last couple of days but it was ok and eating a bunch of cucumbers helped with hunger each time. This will be the last week at 2.5mg and I’ll go to 5mg from next week. Lost another 1kg this week.

Halfway through my 10mg mounjaro dose (month 4) current loss is 21KG, man I feel transformed - back to how I used to be.

The only problem is the fatigue from this stuff is grinding me down, 24-36 hours after each job - I feel absolutely wrecked and just want to sleep all day.

My exit plan from mounjaro is to stick with my PT, continue eating healthily, and keep active - I cannot afford to re-gain this weight again.

Nice work @Felon. Really sensible to have an exit strategy. I still need to be somewhat careful about my food and calorie intake to maintain sub 90kg. To get below BMI 25 (88kg) I need to be strict with logging and be in quite a deficit. In short, I’m not actually sure what my exit strategy is apart from continuing to be extremely mindful about my calorie intake.

Just a heads up for anyone buying from Dr Franks. They created my order as a subscription, with no notification that they were doing this.
Got hit with a £280 charge this morning for an incorrect dose (I'm titrating upwards) with no warning, and they've refused to cancel the order...

The stigma only exists for those that want to make it such.
Losing weight the old fashioned way - eat less calories
Mounjaro/Wegovy route - eat less calories.
There's definitely a merit to taking it the "old way" though - all the evidence points to weight returning when people stop taking the weight loss jabs because there has been no lasting relationship change with food/how the individuals see eating.

But at the end of the day weight loss is weight loss. It's all the same.

Advice to eat less is very correct and very useless since most people can't sustainably lose weight doing that
willpower only gets you so far if the original reason for eating too much is not addressed. Same with coming off ozempic

Yeah, don't ever buy from these. I got involved with these shysters and had to threaten reporting them to the Medical Council, Trading Standards etc and funny thing within a couple of hours i had a refund (no actual order though :()

Absolutely, I lost over 3 stone in 2019 gyming it like a fanatic but put it all back on and more so the traditional way was no better than any medically assisted route imho.
This time round my mentality has changed in that I can have a calorific day in a week, just as long as I dont follow it up and or get some exercise in to help offset it. Previously I just didnt care, until I hit the point of pressing the **** it button and honestly, you still need patience. I think that this is lost on some of the naysayers, its not an overnight transformation or as "easy" as some make out.

I've raised a paypal case against them, and I've got section 75 to fall back on.

Lost another 1.5kg this week and went on 5mg Mounjaro this morning. Haven't been able to eat anything today really, my appetite is gone and I didn't even think of food. Seems fine so far, kind of drug induced intermittent fasting I guess! :D

Been to the doctors this morning. 2.1Stone in a week under 3 months. Staying on 7.5 for the time being. What was surprising was when i had some bloods done it showed that my sugar levels have now gone to barely pre-diabetic levels (41) so the pharmacist should be lowering my metformin and my blood pressure is currently in the green so maybe a drop in that medication as well. Eating small portions with very very little bad foods (Still have a small bit of takeaway with my mum and sister on fridays, eating fruit, walking 1-1.5 miles in my lunchtime and doing weights morning and evening. Still plenty to go however that is now me at my lowest weight for about 20 years.
