Borderlands 4 (2025)

I've got FG on x4 at the moment and not felt any input lag but I'll drop to x2 FG and see if I notice an input lag difference, might be one of those things where I dont feel it until I directly compare
ah when i have fsr or the tsr on its super responsive moving my mouse, as soon as i go fsr and enable frame gen i can feel the mouse is a tad sluggish.

edit my upscaling is set to quality mode.

Well theres 2 choices isnt there, I could simply not buy the more expensive GPU and not play the games that I want to play and sit around not gaming on the games I want or I could pay the tiny sum of £20 a month equivalent (and theres a ton of sites out there, as well as CC of course, where you can split the GPU costs over time) and be able to play the games that I want to play in the manner I want to play them. So option 1 allows me to keep my principals but I end up not doing my main hobby, which makes for a sad Tombstone, and option 2 doesnt in any way break the bank and makes for a happy Tombstone. I know which of the 2 options I picked :)
I vote to not spend my money on the games that aren't made properly. Plenty of other games to buy instead of perpetuating the cycle of crap. Currently playing silksong that is gorgeous and cost 16 quid not 60.

Framerate may not scale well further down the stack, but it's acceptable for me on a 7950X3D/5090 combo. With 4k/max/DLSS Quality, I can hold 70-90 fps, which can be turned into a locked 120 with 2x framegen. That's acceptable. It should probably be better for a game that looks so last-gen, though. The first 45 minutes contain absolutely zero visual "wow".

Silksong isnt my sort of game, not really into side scroller games. Thats good news though that you have some games that you like, I was beginning to think your username was a little too accurate, that or I was starting to suspect that you are Mack from Worthabuy :D , excellent news though, you can play Silksong and enjoy your hobby to the max and I can play Borderlands 4 and no doubt Dying Light The Beast next week and enjoy my hobby to the max, its a win-win for both of us ! :)

just tried frame gen again and the lag is less noticable now, 100 fps now, i think thats a fair trade off :D

the main thing annoying me now is my keyboard the left ctrl key is knackered so im fighting years and years of muscle memory lol gonna have to practice soldering so i can attempt to switch the switch for left control for one i dont use ever :P

am enjoying the game though, the game play is spot on :)

Ah yeah, I've tried x4 and x2 FG now, both on DLSS DLAA native res and I can feel the difference between x4 and x2 now, didnt notice it at all on x4 until I compared it with x2. If I drop from DLSS DLAA to DLSS Quality it seems to go away on x4 for me.

Edit : x3 seems to be the sweetspot for me, on x3 FG with DLSS DLAA native res I'm not feeling the input lag

For peeps saying they are getting lower than expected FPS and leaning on upscaling. Have you tried not running at max preset? I know it's nice to whack stuff on full but sometimes there are no perceivable IQ benefits, but there are FPS gains to be had instead. :)

70-90fps with a 5090 using DLSS? That is awful. Game doesn't even look amazing or anything. WTH. I'd be expecting at least double that considering what a 5090 costs.

180fps seems a lot in 4k, are there any newish titles which get 180fps in 4k? (I dont game in 4k anymore, so genuine question)

Cyberpunk with path tracing gets framerates close to that with that gpu xD

I'd be chuffing amazed if this of all games was the one that didn't feel like playing in slow motion when using FG 4x, and to a lesser extent 2x.

******* hell, this game is a time vortex! I feel like I just blinked *poof* evening has gone.
Solid game so far, its borderlands so kinda knew what we were getting. Cant say I've had any performance issues, everything turned up, set to x2 FG and no complaints 7800x3d/5070ti.
