Assassins Creed Shadows - AC finally (at last) heads to Japan

Im still sitting on the fence :)
Im more into clearing POI`s and gameplay than story in my games.
I wonder if ill enjoy it or get bored quick.

I found the story a bit convoluted and basically started skipping all the dialog scenes after a while.

The game for me is mostly raiding castles, and taking contracts to raid the smaller camps is a good way to get loot to sell and upgrade your weapons.

There isn't really much else to do compared to Valhalla for example.

There are the quick time events that are important to level up but they just become a chore after a while but you can set them to auto complete in the settings if you want.

I'm actually having more fun playing days gone at the moment which is a similar style of game but with zombies rather than samurai etc.
It just seems more engaging and more stuff going on.

Shadows is basically empty in comparison, they should have just called it 'castle raiding simular' lol

Finally started playing this as was stuck for something to start, 8 hours in so far and just finished killing the first 2 on the list, been busy exploring and raiding camps / castles on the way to the objectives, there's parts of this game that look and sound amazing so far.

One criticism so far is the maps vast but in the starting area 50% or more you can't actively get around easy due to them being steep hills you'll slide down, found letting the horse take me to my marker whist going afk for a drink seems to be the better way to get around so far if it's not near a fast travel point.

70 hours and all the objective board finished (with the exception of a few of the collections), parts of this I really enjoyed, some of the maps were great at giving me the feeling of being in Japan, other parts felt like they were there purely to pad the map size up as there's loads of 'blank' areas.

Stuck with Naoe apart from the missions you have to use Yasuke, which took a little while to get used to his different play style.

Story was a mixed bag, some of the targets / longer missions were enjoyable, others were just the usual Ubisoft missions you'd expect.

Pleasantry surprised sums it up for me, after finishing the game I don't get why it pulled in as much hate as it did.

I imagine the characters annoy people. Firstly you have a Japanesse setting, without a Japanesse man and instead a Japanesse female who realistically wouldn't be able to do much in this era and also a massively obese black guy, who wouldn't likely live there, wouldn't be obese in this era if he was a working man, and is pretty much a politically correct choice with both characters.

This is my least played AC. I actually wasted 50 quid to play for 15 hours before I got bored of it lol. Never again.
I think if this was like four or five games ago I would have enjoyed it more but it was just more of the same with a different paint

Yes it doesn't innovate on the previous games.

But it's not bad for what it is.

Not sure if anyone is still playing this but I am experiencing a bug after applying the new 1.1.1 patch.

Essentially my left mouse button will intermittently stop working!

OK, seems I am not alone.

Same for me. Alt-tabbing and tabbing back in seems to fix it.

...and I also play everything but driving and sports games with keyboard and mouse.
