i bought myself a

MSI MAG 321CUP 4K Ultra HD OLED Monitor

For playing my Xbox X games on, this was the only option i could afford wanting 4K OLED, else id have gone for the 240hz model instead, and obviously the xbox only does 120hz

But in putting it together with my new desk I decided i wanted to get back into SFF Pc gaming again as well
So ive currently got a
NR200P v1 case
AMD 7800X3D. CPU
MSI MPG B850 I Edge TI WiFi board
Corsair DDR5 16 x 2 32GB CL30 6000MHZ
Liquid freezer III pro
SF1000 PSU
Storage to get,

I just need a graphics card now,
just so we are clear im not comparing the 2 cards in the title , i want it for 4K gaming and eventually PCVR
Those in my mind are the best 2 cards that hopefully will do what i need, the 5090 is out of my price range, if they release a super version at same or cheaper price id be tempted,

Its going to take me a few weeks to build the system up without a GPU,
my question is should i get the above cards or hold out a month or 2 (im not going to wait indefinitely) for the Nvidea supper cards or dare I say it an AMD 10000 card ?

I'd say wait amd may drop prices to compete with the super cards then again the super cards could be stupidly priced or reasonably priced its a bit of a gamble at this time

But when was the last time a card was released at msrp but for 4k I'd hold out for the supers

I do agree with you, I ive never bought a new AIB on the nvidea side since before the 3 series cards came out, always silly prices, even compared to FE cards, which look so nice ! But the AMD AIB cards do seem to have up n down sales, once i have build my system, will see what the news is, im not gonna wait till new year “just in case” but will get something :)

If you can wait, wait. If you're dumping ~£1K I'd definitely want the VRAM upgrade and running VR needs all the help it can get.

Previously had the 3090 ti with 24GB ram, if it was just VR id try get a 2nd hand one, but not sure about 4K gaming, i dont do AAA or stuff like that just FPS like call of duty, or MS flight sim, not really a multiplayer type of person unless it is with like minded people ;)
