Don't get me wrong, the 7800xt is a hell of a card and if I am honest with myself I don't need a new one.
But as mentioned above, the whole need for shiny things is too real!

Just want to get my wife's 40th all sorted, then will see how much I can put in the pc fund for new year.
All systems go on the 9070 / xt route though eventually

It's a fair point but I have to say going from a 6800 non XT to the 7800xt was a pretty impressive jump in performance in games and overall the grunt the 7xxx series had was decent, they always had to play second fiddle in anything RT Vs NV but raster power was big.
I saw a lot on paper that it wasn't the case but at least from my personal play experience the 6-7 jump was decent
I guess that exact systems, games played etc etc will always tip the scales around all over the show.
Hmmm, yeah that is the question that keeps going round my head....but I think the move, if financially sensible enough would be worth it as a whole
