Tootles, a couple of episodes back, said he had uploaded several books so he can help out in the lab. Why not plugin all the hybrids and upload 1000s of books, they aren't going to learn much running around an island playing children's games.

Maybe for control reasons? Tbh, if I invented an android that was physically faster and stronger than me, which never needed to sleep and never became tired , I really dont think I would be inclined to turn it into a genius as well.

I think it comes down to if it's one or multipole seasons. One season I think it easily rounds up with everyone on the island dying including the monsters with a nuke or something to prevent the invasive species escaping. That can be done neatly with a satisfying arc for key characters about self sacrifice. Multiple seasons will bea charlie foxtrot the beasties have to get off the island because you need "bigger and better" for season 2 and it will end with a totally unsatisfying mcguffin or deus ex machina to resolve the plot.

Unlikely everyone dies when Wendy has an attack Xeno to command. It seems to be setting up for her to save everyone.

Wouldn't it end up running into the original Alien film?

I think this is set 2 years before that, which doesn't leave much time.

Edit: I would tolerate one more season, if most of the kids are killed of this season.

Possibly but depending how the do the story I'd be fine with that, can be events happening somewhere in parallel to the events of Alien
 
Boy Kavalier mentioned the quarantine period being 6 weeks? in the recent episode. We haven't got past that yet

Noah Hawley is working on the story for Season 2. Might it be the anthology approach like he did with Fargo where the seasons are fairly stand alone with some links to previous ?
