Its a shame that Windows10 is coming to its end...

Well since upgrading to Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC Ive had no nagging to upgrade to win11, but Im guessing apps+games will start not running on windows 10 so Im not really much better off

I was genuinely going to by a key, but after realising people like us shouldn't be using LTSC, it wouldn't of made much diff if I bought a key for it or not?

That's ultimately why I didn't bother with LTSC versions. For a start, we already know Nvidia stops updating their drivers for Win 10 next year, and the Xbox app already complains about being on 21H2 so I wouldn't be surprised if MS pulled the plug on it entirely pretty soon. Other games and apps will start to follow on in time.

As Home users can't legitimately buy an LTSC key, you are likely only going to be buying a full on pirated key or a grey key (legitimately purchased by a business but not meant for distribution). Not much point either way and if you intend to do it, just go the free route yourself.

For general home use an LTSC version might last a while, but for gaming, people are going to run into problems pretty quick.

Manage to enrol for extended windows update.
Just done the same. It seems to allow you to do it as long as you have a Microsoft account.

I detest Windows 11 so will hang on as long as possible. I'm forced to use it at work and just cannot get on with it.

While reading that article, I found this article stating that Nvidia will be ending driver support for GTX 10 series of which my GTX 1050 Ti is part of.

My plan wss to remain on Windows 10, update my CPU, motherboard and RAM then install Windows 11. Now I need to consider upgrading my graphic card, which I will plan on doing after upgrading and installing Windows 11.

As you can tell by the age of my graphic card, it's been perfectly adequate for me for the last ~10 years. I'm seriously going to consider Intel Arc graphic cards, as Nvidia's prices are just stifling.

I am keeping an eye out for the AMD RX-7400

No PCIe cable, low power, 8gb GPU which could be a good replacement for the 1050ti.

Two old machines here are Q9550 with 1050ti , though in reality I should just move on lol

Exactly. Hate it, use it in work.

I will continue to use windows 10 as long i can. Can see myself using windows 10 for few more years at the very least before i even think about jumping ship.

Well I havent gamed on my pc for a few yrs now and I haven't even got any games on my pc atm, so just as long as the drivers keep working and I dont start gaming again, I should be fine. But I doubt my amd 5700xt will run many latest game anyway, plus the 8086k cpu might struggle, but on the other hand there might be quite a bit of juice in the cpu yet if I just upgraded the gpu as games are more gpu intensive then cpu?
