Another "remember that computer/video game shop" thread

My favourite shop was called Vudata in Ashton-under-Lyne. It moved from one place to another to expand the shop.

Ramsoft in Rochdale was where I bought my Amiga 500.

I also bought a CD32. But can't remember which place I got it from.

Does anyone else remember the none computer shops that used to sell games, but now don't? Boots, WHSmith comes to mind.
Ramsoft in Rochdale rings a bell. Wherabouts was it?

Boots in Rochdale had a good and sligbtly eclectic selection of computers on sale. I got a Toshiba MSX there at a good price.

What about Silica Systems in Sidcup? Got my first Amiga from there, the "Desktop Dynamite" bundle. Later also purchased and a Citizen 24 pin colour printer for £400. The excitement driving back down the M20 to get home and try them out was epic!

The local pc shop to me is still going, some how.
Did work experience there and found out how toxic the work environment was.
As the years rolled by, they are still there and beyond uncompetitive.
But also, they refuse to sell PSUs unless you pay them a premium to install it, the PSUs in question are cheap and unrecognisable brands.

I remember a video shop that I used to rent mega drive games from, those were awesome days

I lived in Lee/Eltham and would sometimes visit Silica in sidcup for games with my dad!

Probably a bit later than many of these, but in Ashford (middx) where I grew up we had Cyberdyne and many years after that shut down, we had a LAN centre called Wireworld. I loved both these places. Cyberdyne was dark and had this sci-fi aura around it - it was the kind of place where you bought Command & Conquer expansion packs.

Wireworld was just a hub for Counter-strike. When they shut down, my dad amazingly bought me on of the PCs. Queue my unfettered access to porn and MSN Messenger. Hah

So a few whiskies tonight has made me a little nostalgic :p

I remember visiting a shop on this road in my younger years here (on the left side) in Hanley/Stoke area.
But I cannot remember what it was called for the life of me....

On the left side as well... I used to buy my amiga games from there! Does anybody remember the name?

Cheers folks :)
Do you mean down that side street?

I remember somewhere called Special Reserve Games in Nottingham. Think the very last time I used them was to preorder Half Life 2 back in 2004.

It was always such a lively place, and then suddenly vanished... Game and Gamestation just never had the same vibe.

There was a place selling Spectrum and C64 era games in Selsdon, Page 43 I think it was called.

We had a public domain software shop locally that I remember frequenting.
Particularly remember one game from there, sure it was called Omega. Sure it was a top down RPG type fair.
