NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - (PRE)ORDER DISCUSSION **NO COMPETITOR HINTING**

I keep eyeing the "MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Gaming Trio OC 12GB" on OCUK at the moment.
I have a 3060 and just want that extra push into my games mostly running them on a med/high setting around 80fps but with BF6 around the corner I would love to push that into high!

I have heard its just a fancy 4080 though. Anyone got experience with it?

A 5070 would be a major upgrade from 3060 with performance improvement of around 60% rasterization and better for RT games.

I would, however, stretch to a 5070 Ti if you can. In addition to the raw performance uptick, the 12GB on the 5070 is really very anemic for modern games, even at 1440p.

The 5070 does perform generally 20% below the 4080. It's kind of a fake out from nV where they are trying to brand lower-end cards with higher-end designations which is quite shameful of them. The 5070 ti is really the equivalent to the 4080.

Seems the PS6 is going to be a bit of a monster, will this force Nvidia to rethink GPU pricing? Maybe they knew this already and that's why current GPU prices have remained so, milk PC gamers whilst they still can.

If the PS6 comes in at under £1k, then what is even the point in buying a PC GPU for even a bit above that and not getting console performance come 2027?

The PlayStation will never give us the joy of dealing with crappy drivers and spending as much time on troubleshooting as gaming

I had a long think about this after reading the article even, if this all tracks out correctly then I will probably go to PS6 as my gaming platform and just retain the 4090 in the PC to continue the existing PC games until they are done with, then continue using it just for productivity. What incentive remains in spending high 4 figures on a GPU when a PS6 will now give 60fps path tracing 4K output and beyond with next gen upscaling and frame gen tech etc which is genuinely in a good place and only getting better?

Main leaning is for GTA6 obviously lol, we know Rockstar will milk the Sony exclusivity and PC will get it at least 1-2 years later.

I'm never going back to console gaming, it's just too restrictive. Game too hard, here are some mods. Want to run around as a half naked Hugh Jackman? That's fine too.

Never pay for 'online', cheaper games (or free if you're down for that). Also, all the handheld options give portability without having to deal with Nintendo.

I sold my PS5 in 2023 after buying the ROG Ally and realising what the future of gaming looked like (cloud syncing saves to the desktop and back is awesome).

If anything console gaming is dying and PC gaming is on the up despite high GPU prices, PC is always one step ahead of the game.

Does anyone have any insider knowledge on what’s happening with the higher end FE cards not being listed to buy any more? Apologies if I’ve missed this discussion elsewhere on the forum.

An Nvidia spokesperson said today to WCCFTech that they are delisted until stock is replenished, FE cards are still fully in production.

They delist them when out of stock as it kind of stops bots constantly refreshing the page for the "add to cart" button.

Where on earth have you got that from?

The PS5 has sold over 80 million units, the same amount as the PS4 had sold in the same time frame. The Switch just sells and sells, it seems like Nintendo are happy to keep pumping out both Switch 1 and 2 games at this point too considering the size of their customer base.

As PC parts only increase in price, console game continues to become more appealing.

The PS5 Pro is an expensive console - but you can't come close to building a similarly performing PC for the same price. I love PC gaming, I think it's definitely more 'accessible' than it has been previously (building your own PC etc. is really not that complicated at this point and used parts in good conditions are much easier to find) but I don't think it's fair to say that 'console gaming is dying'.

The PC master told me

They are pretty useless for older games too. Want to play a PS4 gen game on the PS5? Most likely 1080p/30fps/low settings. Want to play a PS3 gen game? Streamed (lol). Imagine buying a new GPU and the games are still locked at the settings you used on your GPU from 2010 and you have to wait for a remaster, paid upgrade or just put up with 30fps. The online fee also demolishes the cheaper entry level price imo & I'm not playing first person games on a controller.

We'll probably get a big jump with the RTX 6000 series so wouldn't surprise me if the base RTX 6060 will match the PS6.. just like when PS5 was hyped up to be a RTX 2080/2070 monster and by the time it released it was base RTX 3060 performance. MLID is not very reliable either.

2027 for the RTX6000 should be quite interesting, The price will be too :D

I just hope AMD have some sort of competition at the higher end this time.

Was considering a new build, noticed the FEs aren’t listed anymore.

Presumably this is because of an imminent ti/super refresh?

Nvidia stated the 5000 series FE's are still fully in production, When out of stock sometimes Nvidia just delist the FE's, Happened with the 3000 series and 4000 series.

5080 and 5090 FE's were briefly back in stock in the US I believe but quickly sold out so the listing were removed again.

I read not so long ago the delisting when out of stock can help with bots that scalpers use.
