*** The Official iPhone 17 thread (it has new camera bumps and everything!) ***

Might trade in my 15 PM in mint condition for the 17 PM Orange perhaps? I could sell on MM or fleabay but I can’t be bothered with all the hassle! Is the trade in fairly straight forward?

AFAIK yu can’t transfer an eSim to another phone unless you go through the whole transfer of the entire phone. QR codes are one time use and you need to have the phone near by to do set up via another phone. Some companies don’t even allow the transfer to a new phone either and you have to get a new number then transfer the number across.

I’d rather they just got rid of the sim and gave that little bit of a bigger battery and would force networks/carriers to improve.

Isn’t sim jacking more of an issue due to lax security checks at the providers customer service?

E.g. someone rings up, pretends to be you, provider sends them a new sim and cancels the one in your phone.
 
I trade my phones in with Apple now. I had one of those companies graded down my phone before, which brought it down to what Apple offered.

I have yet to be graded down with Apple.
 
How strict are apple with the condition? I’ve got a 15pro and the power button has a couple of small marks on where the paint has flaked off but the rest of the phone is mint.

Not sure, don’t have a clue but with EE you have to confirm you details with the phone via the app/text message and they call you back.

So theres no way you can do that without having full access to the phone and sim.

You can send it to them as well but as above they may downgrade it and its just a hassle to say no send it back and you’re back to square one. I think that’s why they all do the oh we need to regrade it.

I think I’ll take a gamble and get the 17 Pro whilst I’m in the US in December. The £220 saving is too big to ignore.

The lack of warranty is concerning, but I feel like these phones don’t really have a lot of problems overall.

Went all in this time around.

15 Pro 128gb to 17 Pro 256Gb in Orange and a Series 11 in slate

Didn’t buy a watch when I switched to apple with the 15 Pro just in case I ended up not liking it, but sticking with Apple for the foreseeable future

Pickup for both on the 19th at my local Vodafone store. They gave me £350+50 trade in on my 15 Pro
 
Think I’ll get the same case as my old 16 Pro Max the Spigen Hybrid Ultrafit but now unsure on the screen protector? Anyone had the spigen one? I know it had mixed reviews for the 16.
