Best place to sell used GPU now?

This is difficult to answer without breaking competitor rules. But I think the safest place is somewhere that will let you go in store and exchange for cash or a voucher. You will probably get a bit less but zero chance of getting scammed.

I used this place to sell a 7900 XT Pulse and got more than I was seeing them go for on MM here.

In my case it was free postage and they tested it and put the money in the account in a few days. Zero complaints, but check the prices.

What's the best place to sell a used GPU now? ebay is still toxic i guess? FB marketplace?

eBay is fine... FB Market is full of scammers... Zero protections for buyers so I generally avoid it..... Members Market here is absolutely a good place...

OCuk do not resell used gfx cards its fine to say CEX. In anycase I took my last there and they couldn't test it or something and I had to return and collect it, very annoying. Anyway sold it on MM instead they were selling for more there anyhow

This.

I had an older GPU to sell and the voucher price was the price I'd have gotten on the bay, the cash price wasn't far off either really.

Personally I'd still rather buy and sell my tech on here, although I have binned off one or two items in the place you're talking about when nobody was interested.

The MM prices do tend to be a bit lower overall, and I feel like selling on here for a bit less is a good way to help out the community. I might be making less but it's good to know the stuff is going to a good home, that and I've had a couple of solid bargains myself so it comes back around.

I’ve used FB Marketplace many times with zero issues. I tend to look at their profile and always meet in person either their house or mine (there house if I’m buying) if I’m selling I’ll wait till the money is in my account. If I’m upgrading to a new GPU I’ll look at CEX given the 2 (now 5) year warranty they offer and store credit tends to be worth more than the MM on here

Here and ebay (with additional insurance cover, depending on the value of the gpu, to cover me) if a legitimate case of stolen item/damage takes place. So I have double coverage for a fair price and peace of mind, not had to use it, but helps when I state it on my listings perhaps to scare off any would be opportunists.

I've sold things in various places over the years. Facebook selling is interesting, especially when face to face telling the buyer they are not leaving with anything until my phone says the money is in my bank, regardless of what their phone is saying. I had one chap refuse to bring cash on the basis of security.
Apparently it's not safe carrying a couple hundred quid where he's from

But that's even when you get them to turn up, the excuses come thick and fast, and then they get all arsey when you tell them not to bother!

Yes. The last time, a guy came round to buy my Ally X. He stood in my kitchen while we had a chat, and he checked things over. I got him to ping over £5 to confirm the transaction. Which it did (and nines times out of ten they show you their phone within the banking app to confirm your details). Once that had gone through I got him to then send over the rest. All went smoothly. If the £5 didn't go through I would have just given him £5 and called it a day.

Its not fool proof, but hats off if you can pull a scam off face to face. I totally prefer cash, but a sale is a sale.

Its always best to try and have a chat over messages beforehand to try and get a measure of someone. Its not always easy as I've had people be very blunt and straight forward, and have turned up handed the cash over and walked away within minutes.
